It's cool. I was looking at this site yesterday because my best friend had a baby yesterday morning but it wouldn't have been delivered in time because of the bank holiday. I also loved that site called baby blooms where they do bouquets of flowers using baby clothes. \link{http://www.babyblooms.co.uk/\here}

starlover · 02/05/2006 11:40

oh yes I love those! wish i knew someone having a baby! lol

julieandbv - please don't take this the wrong way but more than once it has been pointed out to you that Mumsnet charges a fee for advertising, yet you persist in posting links to your site.

You have had free advertising from a Mumsnetter who has recommended your site earlier this week, please stop posting links now.

Thank you.

juliandbv · 03/05/2006 07:46

and i have posted an ad and paid a fee, what harm is there is responding to a question about someone asking for an unusual gift?

SoupDragon · 03/05/2006 08:19

Yes, I think it's OK once the fee has been paid :)

juliandbv · 03/05/2006 09:10

thankyou for that SoupDragon and we are in the products section as well, so i would have thought people would expect other to either recommend or even offer there services.

no offence taken SaintGeorge

:)

SoupDragon · 03/05/2006 09:12

I'm guessing she hadn't noticed the ad. I think you're also allowed to bump the advert a few times (although not constantly :o).

juliandbv · 03/05/2006 09:15

Ok i agree i have plugged what we do quite a bit, but responding to ads must be seen to be ok

Cappucino · 03/05/2006 09:33

I always buy a massage voucher from a beauty salon for every friend I have who drops a new one

cos after I had both dd's all I wanted was someone to rub my back Grin

everyone has liked it

mawbroon · 03/05/2006 09:53

I give a gift box containing the newspaper from the day the baby was born, the number one single, a video of various things off the tv and for the next ones will also put in a receipt for a loaf of bread and a pint of milk so that they can fall about laughing at how cheap everything was back in the old days!

It doesn't cost much but I think it shows that some thought has gone into it.

SaintGeorge · 03/05/2006 10:00

I apologise if you have posted an advert - I did a search on your posting name and only the threads with links came up.

It did seem a bit like overkill to me when I saw so many within the products section.
