I need an idiot-proof digital camera

I really need to buy a very simple to use but good quality digital camera that makes it particularly easy to transfer pictures to a computer.

We have relatives abroad who keep wanting to see the latest family photos plus I want to be able to post pictures of stuff for sale on here and on eBay.

Does anyone have any recommendations ?

I've got a kodak easyshare and my 4 year old uses it a lot - they are great

Another recommendation for the Kodak. Even my technologically challenged mother can use one!!

Canon Ixus is fantastic and really easy to use. Brilliant quality pics

Will start checking them out at the weekend.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

My dh has just bought me a Samsung Digimax A402. It's really easy to use and incredibly easy to transfer pics to computer - just plug the lead into the camera and the computer and away you go (after you've loaded on the software the first time!)

The only downside is that it suspect it will be heavy on battery usage so I'm off to buy some re-chargeable batteries.

A real bonus point for me is that it is really small - not that much bigger than a mobile phone, so it fits in my handbag and I've always got it with me.

When you buy a digital camera, it's worth buying a big memory card that will hold at least 200 photos or you will be constantly downloading them.

I had the Kodak Easyshare for my birthday because dh got fed up with me not being able to put the photos from my old digital camera on the computer. Even I can do this one! I don't have to buy batteries for it as it sits on a port on the top of the printer and gets recharged. Also it has optical zoom which is much better than digital. I'm very pleased with it and use it all the time.

We have a Sony digi camera for sale - less than a year old. dh works for Sony Centre and just bought an upgraded model. It's in perfect condition if you're interested. I can post more details , spec etc. And it must be simple, coz I can use it!

Another vote for Canon Ixus. Fantastically simple.
