That rainbow painting thing advertised on kids channels?

You get like a wide sponge brush type thing, and roll it over several colours of paint and you can do rainbow swirly things.

It goes on about not spilling etc...

Is it any good does anyone know?

DD is going on and on about it, her birthday is coming up and if it could involve her painting without pouring paint over the table, it sounds worth the money!!!

i've seen them doing it down in brighton, they used to have a stand down there... i am sure kids could make a mess if they tried though! lol

hi flame

i got a very very similar thing from crayola for dd1's christmas, from toys r us

its very good

although all the colours seem to go into brown eventually, but dd1 didnt seem to mind, it lasted for ages as well, good value for money

Best used with a roll of wallpaper.

Godmother bought my 6 yr old daughter one - I guarantee the rainbow art produced won't look anything like the stuff on the TV - they are experts ... Fairly Unmessy but once the paints started falling out I threw ours away

  • mean mummy that I am -

IMHO
normal paints are better, cheaper and last longer and are more flexible - rainbow art is just another gimmick.

Ps have had ranbow felt tips as well - another wasted purchase. Dried up very quickly and nibs get stuck in pen holders never to be seen again

Crayola, ELC and Rose Art all do much cheaper versions of this. Total gimmick imho. £20 is a complete rip off for six round paint blocks and some sponge brushes which can be bought v cheaply elsewhere (Wilkinsons, The Works publishing shop etc).

Flamesparrow · 27/04/2006 13:28

Ooh, the £6 crayola version sounds a much better plan Grin

Thanks guys!!!
