Am thinking of them or Harvey Jones.

Any recommendations welcome

Yikes, not my bag at all ! Doesn't seem to be a fat lot there for £185k budget ! You can almost buy a 4 bed house for that here !!! All that colour changing on the website is enough to give you migraines too.

CD - looks like a blooming lovely kitchen (m'lady) and one that I would be happy to house in my kitchen (which is rather dated pale wood type stuff by Kirkplan who went in to liquidation, such was there appeal).

princesspeahead · 19/01/2004 22:25

your square whatsit kitchen looks v nice - like the plain english ones (coincidentally based in.... hoxton, I think!). nicer than harvey jones, which I do know although I pretend not to!
funky kitchen is a vain attempt to make their house interesting. I used to live just around the corner from there. doesn't really work though, does it?!!

CountessDracula · 19/01/2004 22:50

No, and the rest of the house is totally normal (saw it on one of these makeover progs, the one with the bird with the ruddy massive topknot thingy), the kitchen is all way out and the living room which is in the same space is all boring and normal so looks really daft. Don't tell my mate the architect though! (It's not his house, he has a much much cooler one!)

I like the Squarepeg one. We are having a new kitchen soon but not very new - ie., not new units as the boring light oak ones are still serviceable (well, dh thinks so...I'm trying to kick them about a bit and encouraging ds2 to ride his trike into them at every opportunity). But we are having new tiles, worktops, sink and paintwork so it'll look different anyway.

£185K for a kitchen? You CAN buy a 4 bedroomed house round here for less than that - ours for example

CountessDracula · 19/01/2004 22:57

I think the 185k was for lots of building and design work too. Marthamoo wish we could just put in new bits and pieces like that but existing kitchen just so vile and 80's that it has to go.

Oh and thanks twiglett, yes I did see that, typical isn't it? Still quite cheap compared to some though

I have had a Squarepeg Kitchen, they are extremely well designed and made. They visit your home and listen to your ideas very carefully. They are very good value and John the owner is always on hand to answer question which you may have. They definitely add value to your home, they look and are as good as any kitchen on the market - including Martin Moore, Neptune etc
