Please help, DS (who is constantly battle-scarred from pavement surfing) needs to graduate from his trike, but isn't ready for a bike yet.

What's the best for accident-prone two and a half year old? Wood or metal?

Whay are they so pricy here? What other brands are common/ recommended in Germany? and how much cheaper are they there? Cheap ones on eBay look sooo home-made.

Are we just going to be derided as uberMiddle Class for having one of these? Wink

TIA

Kettler is a German make. They do a metal version called Speedy Push and Go with no pedals and adjustable seat height which wooden ones don't have. It is much cheaper than the wooden ones. It is brilliant. We had one which I've passed on to my niece who is 2 and a half. She loves it - so much better than a three wheeler or bike with stabilisers. My ds learnt to ride a proper bike in no time at 4 after using this.
