Jane matrix pro -too upright as a car seat or am I paranoid?

We bought the whole Jane powertrack 360 matrix travel system on the basis that the carry cot converted into a rear facing car seat when DD was ready for it. The idea being that it would save money in the long run. As a carry cot I cannot fault the matrix, but as a car seat it seems to be very upright when in the car, so much so that DD's head keeps lolling about when she's asleep. Has anyone else had this problem or am I just being paranoid? I'm now thinking about buying another car seat, but DD is not yet at that magic 20lbs and is only 6 months old. (she's too long for the carry cot to lie flat in it now) Has anyone got any ideas about which seats to look at?

We had the same problem. Its a shame because I loved the Matrix as a lie-flat seat.

We got a Bebe Confort Iseos stage 2 seat that can be fitted rear-facing to start with, and then forward-facing when the baby is old enough. Britax do one too (First-class?).

i agree. Far too upright.

both ds's hated it and ended up having to buy another car seat.

We had to use the Matrix as an upright seat from ds being very small, as he was refluxy and absolutely loathed being flat. (Sooooo glad I spent all that money on a lie-flat seat! Not!). We didn't find it too bad, though, you have to pull the front of the seat base quite a lot upwards, so that it's good and secure, and then the back isn't angled to cause too much head lolling.

We've moved to a Britax Duo Plus (the Isofix one) now that ds is 10 months, and ds likes this very much. The Jané is such a pain to get in and out of the car, and even to get baby in and out of whilst it's in the car.
