stroller recommendations please...

My mums looking for a stroller for our DS. My mum won't be using it too much but would like something that is:

fairly light
has a raincover
can recline to some degree (or perhaps to flat for the next baby!)
folds well
is manouverable
preferably has a footmuff (or is cheap enough to buy one on top IYSWIM)

She doesn't want to spend a fortune. Any recommendations? We were thinking of the MacLaren Triumph as its £50 at kiddicare but would have to get the footmuff on top of that. Others we have seen are the chicco winter london and the zoot stroller.

Can't go wrong with a Maclaren in my opinion, it really is worth paying the extra for it. I've tried several others and they are not a patch on the Maclaren.

dont buy a mother care own brand.... the wheels wear out sooooo quickly

starlover · 21/04/2006 18:54

cosatto are really good. I have one and would choose it over a mclaren any day.

i like the maclaren ryder (may have to sell mine). it reclines, and has a foot muff.

sparklygothcat is selling a chicco london stroller.

popsycalindisguise · 21/04/2006 19:06

i second the maclaren ryder
two friends of mine have also bought it on seeing mine

misdee · 21/04/2006 19:07

and irecommende dit to you paps lol. it is a great stroller, and i am really unsure about selling it even if i do need the money.

I would definately recommend the mutsy spider because you have just descrived it to a tea.

starlover · 21/04/2006 22:20

tegan she only wants to spend about £50!!!

tegan · 22/04/2006 20:00

I can do a zapp for £75 inc postage

peaches27 · 22/04/2006 20:19

Just make sure its not too heavy. I have a Mamas and Papas Pliko and I find it a bit heavy to lift.

tegan · 22/04/2006 20:36

The zapp has no weight at all to it. I can carry dd2 in 1 arm and carry the zapp in it's bag on my other shoulder - easy peasy

amazonianwoman · 23/04/2006 12:54

Tegan - might be interested in the zapp, how old is it, and what colour? Is it in good condition? Thanks Smile

tegan · 23/04/2006 14:30

Hi yes it is good condition I have only had it since November.
The writing has come off where dd puts her feet but apart from that it's great. Actually I have just taken it all apart and given it a wash.

tegan · 23/04/2006 16:35

Forgot to say it is steel blue

starlover · 23/04/2006 21:01

the zapp doesn't recline at all
and footmuff is expensive

suzi2 · 27/04/2006 20:35

Thanks everyone. Mum bought a Maclaren Triumph and seems pleased with it. She can 'work' it all by herself without me having to show her what to do every time! DS seems less pleased about it though - the harness is too long so he rattles about a bit. It also seems quite 'sweaty' so mums making a cotton liner for it.

Thanks for the info anyway. The maclaren users swung it for her!
