Have just been kind of browsing slings and ran across this one. It looks nice, but I've never heard of it before.

I have a friend who LOVES it. she currently has 11 slings & carriers not counting others she has sold off. One advantage to it seems to be the weave of the fabric that makes it 'stretch' in many directions hence making if v. tie-able.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I can see myself getting carried away with slings too, but maybe not to that extent. :)

Another one for me to look out for! I will try and find a link!

peaches27 · 12/04/2006 13:05

have a look at \link{http://www.theslingstation.com/storch.html\this}

Getting good at these links arent I?
It looks expensive and like one or two others that are the long bit of fabric type, but if its stretchy I suppose that is a refinement.

I can understand how you can almost develop a sling thing when looking for the perfect one!

jabberwocky · 12/04/2006 13:13

Snap! That's exactly the site where I found it too!!

I really find it hard to get excited about "strictly regulated cotton farms and are all Oeko Text 100 certified cotton, free from chemicals or residue in the fabric" but I suppose if youre into that sort of thing.

The other slings that claim to be made of 100% organic hemp or something fail to attract me also. Have I got a version of compassion fatigue that makes me immune to all these 100% natural organic stuff ... a kind of organic fatigue maybe. I wouldnt pay a lot extra for specially certified cotton would you?

jabberwocky · 13/04/2006 01:07

We're surrounded by organic commandos here, so I have finally succombed...

busybusybee · 16/04/2006 20:23

Jabberwocky - I was just about to start a "storchenwiege" thread of my own and then I found yours!! LOL

I am so tempted by one of these - in the Inka pattern. £45 though which is rather more than I can justify atm

However if it would enable me to carry dd aged 22 months on my back it would be worth considering (I hate the framed back carriers)

I must resist. I must resist!

Rumplebums · 17/04/2006 10:58

Wow, I'm really chuffed that someone has posted a link to my site! I'm the proud owner of Rumplebums (link just posted below), and I personally adore the Storchenwiege slings. My youngest lives in mine all the time, and starts grinning the second I get it out in the morning!

If anyone would like more info, don't hesitate to shout up.

Nice to meet you all!
Lucy
