want to buy one, can't decide at what price range to go in at - is dearer always better ??? also do they look completely naff wall hung and are they a pain in the neck quite literally. Don't want to fork out and find viewing uncomfortable.

Seen one I like for £700 but also another for £400 can't quite decide whether to pay extra for name and supposedly better quality ??

Any recommendations - Thanks

We have one :)
WE have not wall mouted ours, just popped it on an ikea glass doored tv bench its loely :)
Ours is samsung 32 inch with built in freeview
No idea how much it costs as dp will not tell me
Certainly if you wanted a smaller screen size, I would wholly recommend samsung....

golds · 10/04/2006 15:45

Well the Samsung 32" is £999 - I was looking at the Samsung 26" at £699 or £750 with freeview I do like that one, love the pointy bit at the bottom. You see I have seen one in tescos which is also nice Goodmans at £399

Just hate spending that amount of money - Ta

i would pay a bit extra for a good name and built in freeview and make sure it's HD ready otherwise it will be useless in a years time probably.

We have samsung 26" and it's fab. Was £700.

CarlyP · 10/04/2006 15:48

we have a panosonic 38" lcd with built in freeview. great picture. getting a smaller 20" one for the playroom, only paying £200 for that, but the big one was 1.5k

desperateSCOUSEstrife · 10/04/2006 15:50

nah they are not big enough tbh
have a 43 inch square rear projection at the mo
when they do a 43in or bigger will get one then

Whizzz · 10/04/2006 15:52

Yes we have one but to be honest, I don't think the picture is all that good unless you sit right opposite. Sometimes skin tones go a bit pixel-ly
It does look nice though much better that a fat TV !

Mum2Ela · 10/04/2006 15:55

We have a lovely one and its wall mounted - I think they look a lot better then tho tbh I guess this would depend on the size / shaoe of the room. Our is a Phillips, 38 inch (I think), £3.5k, so not cheap.

(I have to say I would pay more for a good name, just for the after-sales service. We had a bit of bother with ours, won't go into detail but it was nothing to do with the TV itself, and Phillips came and took t away, couldn't fix it so brought us a brand-spanking new and upgraded model for free. Thats service!)

dp paid for HDMI connecivity or some such shite and also scart sockets or something.
We actually went in to buy a stereo that would play our ipods
ho hum.... men....

Skribble · 10/04/2006 21:29

We were told by a IT/TV expert to get a screen and a projector. Still can't afford to upgrade from the giant lump we have.

We've got the Sharp Aquos 22" widescreen, we've had it just over 3 years and I think it's pretty fab. The picture quality is really good, even looking at it from an angle. It was pretty expensive at the time (£2000 - but we won it, no way would I have spent that much on anything) but I think the price has dropped a fair bit by now. I think the Aquos range still gets really good reviews.

We have the sony bravia 50" which is amazing. Was quite expensive but wouldn't be without it.
