It says 6 months on the description thingy - how long is it realistically likely to last a fairly sturdy little boy?

I wouldn't buy it.
Total waste of money IMO.

We borrowed one when we had dd and she hated it. Constantly rolled in to the bars on the side and hated it when it was left to swing.

I'd go for a moses basket instead and a stand for it to go on.

ds only managed 41/2 months in his, he was sitting up by 51/2m although he couldn't pull himself into sittin position till 7m, i put him in his cot from 41/2m in his moses basket, till he grew out of that at 5m, so then he was in his cot, i wish i had never bothered getting the crib. Moses basket it suffice i would say!

DS2 is in a crib like that atm by our bed, FS.

He had a moses basket initially, then we moved that downstairs so he could nap in it during the day, but he's outgrown that now.

Still likes the crib though.

Can't put him in the cot yet - DS1's still in it!

Hoping the crib lasts to 6 months...but DS2 is pretty sturdy too (was 13lb 12oz at 10 weeks), so who knows!

dunno, but she is well outta the moses basket. was SO glad to give that away! woohoo. next: a buggy.

We used a wooden bedside crib (ie, the side of the crib folded down so I could lie in bed and cuddle/feed dd without getting her out of the crib).

It was great, and meant that I could get a lot more sleep than I otherwise would have because I didn't have to get up to look after her. I could still be half asleep, just pull her towards me for a cuddle/feed and she'd go back to sleep.

It actually lasted until about 7 months with dd2, who is average size. She was looking a bit cramped in it by that stage, but didn't seem to mind! We don't have enough space for a cot in our bedroom when she grew out of the crib she had to move to her own room.

I would highly recommend a bedside crib, especially if you are breastfeeding or if your ds is going to be in your bedroom with you.

Dd is just about to come out of her moses basket & i have one of these cribs from ds so she is going into that, not sure how long she will last but hoping for about 3 months from now, need to buy the new cot but we are moving at the end of august & wanted to hold og till then but i dont think this will be poss!

Do you have a moses basket? or are you just going to be using the crib from day 1?

We used a crib from Day 1 but it only lasted us 5 months as DD was pulling herself to standing by 5.5 mths. TBH I wish we hadn't bothered, we spent over £100(in a sale) on an M&P's one which is now in the loft.

Thanks for all the replies - my biggest worry was spending money on something which wouldn't last long... problem got solved though! My dad had been desperate to buy something "substantial" for DS, mentioned that I'd been considering the crib, and he went online and ordered it.

So really I was doing a kind thing by letting him buy it Wink
