I think if you have any large metal rsj's in your ceiling it can affect it. It often works better in different parts of your house. I like the digital options of dab but like all things which are supposed to be progress it has many c**p aspects. Wink

Steel RSJs or frames make a huge difference. Next door's house has a steel frame which is why we cannot get digital reception.

Have you tried moving the radio to different locations? If you find places where it works perfectly, it might give you a clue as to what is interfering with it in the position you want it in.

It's on the kitchen windowsill,si there may be an rsj up nearby. It works well in the utility room but then I have to turn it up really loud to hear it Angry. Will try other options.

thanks

it's really annoying isn't it? I was so excited about getting a digital radio until we got it home and realised it only worked in the window of the lounge! They don't really tell you about that when you buy them. We were told to get digital radio, we'd have to get a huge aerial mounted to the outside of the house (which would no doubt cost a fortune) so I'm relegated to listening to it on TV through Sky.

Yep. Pants, isn't it.

Yup, I bought digital radio because I thought it meant no interference. Not true. Also sound quality can be worse because they compress the signal to fit more channels in. Only station which isn't affected by this is Radio 3, which broadcasts 'high'.
