SHHHH · 05/04/2006 09:05

So I have finally decided..well, think the mutsy is better (mostly due to cost..cheaper than the buzz)

BUT....anyone got a date of launch.?? All I can find is april BUT some stockists are saying May..?? Anyone got anything more concrete..? Want to place an order but a bit reluctant for a pre order incase it ends up being a 6 month wait etc..
All the website says is "coming soon". Helpful..!!!

Anyone.? xx

arent you concerned about the ridiculous name? It strikes me every time I read it.

Why do prams have such silly names these days? Is it a status symbol to have one with a really silly name. I might make my own up and tell everyone it is so rare that I have the only one in the country.

tegan · 19/04/2006 20:08

brownteapotlid but shhh and myself are having the red and they should be delivered end of april beginning of may.
You're little one should be lovely and snug in there.
Did you know you can also buy all the extras from the germans too?

SHHHH · 19/04/2006 21:18

ha lol to tegan and I..anyone would think it was us selling em..!!! Wink. BTW it's not!! Think we should go into business. BTW Maria has got back to me and has confirmed the prices like she did with you. Sorry I haven't replied to your email, busy day today but will reply soon.

Red seems to be a popular colour..suppose I feel a little better about that as I was a bit concerned about the colour and didn't want to have a pram in a colour thats unpopular iykwim..Like driving a yellow car with pink flowers..!! Nice but............

Brownteapotlid,I agree, research must have been done and I presume it must have been tested by folk prior to launch..? Fingers crossed our babies are as snugg as tegan says.! Are you also wanting accessories.?

I don't care who gets one as long as I get mine 1st Wink..!!

Peaches, whats in a name..?!

OP posts:
tegan · 19/04/2006 22:04

no probs shhh mail when you ge a chance.

Peahes what's wrong with the name?
and yes hopefully I will be one ogf the first in the uk along with shhh and brownteapotlid.

brownteapotlid · 20/04/2006 21:56

Hi Shhh and Tegan,
I couldnt decide between red and black, but have gone for the black one as I liked the hood being black and white. I think that both the red and black look fab, so hope they will be the popular colours!
I have gone for all the extras - can see the need for all of them, especially the raincover, and cosy toes, the bag, and the umbrella (for hols!)
Hoping it will arrive end April rather than 2nd week of May....!
Suppose they have got to call it something - think Spider is pretty good, any skiiers out there will agree!

peaches27 · 21/04/2006 19:06

Youre right, was just in an arsey mood due to lack of sleep and stress! Enjoy your new stroller!

tegan · 21/04/2006 20:23

Don't worry peaches we intend to.

torti · 24/04/2006 16:07

babies247.co.uk reckon they have them in stock - but not all colours @ £189.99...

SHHHH · 24/04/2006 16:16

torti, apparently (according to the uk mutsy stockist) they are not expected in the uk until end of May. Reason being is that the uk models have to go through a lot more safety checks etc that the european models.Like fire safety..??!

Nowhere in the uk has stock yet due to this BUT I think europe may get stock sooner than the uk due to different regulations.
Tegan, brownteapotlid and I have all got them from a german supplier at £132....Much cheaper that they are to be in the uk when launched.

Will check out that website though, hope they are not out yet as I am like a kid wanting a new toy!!!

OP posts:
tegan · 24/04/2006 19:02

I have sent them a message asking if they really are in stock or if they are just taking orders ready for when they are in.

Mutsy are saying that the uk won't have them until end of may at the earliest.

SHHHH · 24/04/2006 19:07

tegan let me know if they get back to you. xx

OP posts:
tegan · 24/04/2006 19:44

no probs shhh.
I honestly can't see that they would have them sitting on the shelf ready for sale.

torti · 25/04/2006 09:30

i have emailed them myself - but no response yet - however, they do say if they have it in stock they have it in stock... they are based in southhampton & bournemouth so COULD have gone across to collect some? (just a thought?)
i have bought from them before and they have been keen on price but still way over what dieweige is selling them for - also website called babytrader reckons they can ship from 1st may ... can't beleive uk suppliers are asking so much more for them... :-{
does anyone know the size of the wheels? hate smaller wheeled buggies but can just about get away with my zapp (used to BIG wheels!)but not going to buy a spider until i know...
p.s. can't beleive mutsy are not even showing this buggy up on their web page - still to be updated! slack or what (grrrr!)

SHHHH · 25/04/2006 10:21

I did think torti that maybe they had shipped em from europe..? A possibility. I agree with the price though, still quite high.

Can't help with the wheels as there is nowhere that you can look at it etc. What problems do you find with small wheels.?? Not having a zapp etc I wouldn't know what to expect. Tegan you have a zapp don't you..?

Mutsy is a bit poor not even allowing you to view the pram on their site...goodness what are they going to do..wait till its launched! Not good sales pitch at all!!

OP posts:
torti · 25/04/2006 11:56

Had large wheels on mutsy urban, phil & ted & mountain buggy and so because they are soooo easy to push & go up kerbs i never got on well with smaller wheels as seemed to take more pushing effort! This sounds lazy but i have 3 under 4 so lots of energy already allocated - and my opniion is that buggies should make my life easier! (Tell that to a buggy designer eh?)

I have got a zapp which i love for its compactness and wheels are ok...

I just bought Maclaren xt as wheels are 16.5cm so not small but bloody hate umbrella folding & it only just fits in my boot (got a renault modus)so want a spider - even though won't be able to fit a buggy board - my four yr old will have to give up "having tired legs" LOL

so anybody who wants a 2 week old xt - watch ebay...

emailed babytrader to find out shipping & delivery times to uk, as their blurb says carry bag included in 189 euros...will await their reply...

tegan · 25/04/2006 14:14

Received a mail this morning from babies247 and no they don't have them in stock. They will be arriving the last week of may but you can pre-order.

tegan · 25/04/2006 14:16

Babytrader have them from 1st week in may too.

Yep got a lovely zapp for sale.

torti · 25/04/2006 14:41

got message from alice at babytrader who says 24 euros for shippoing (rather worryingly she recknos there is no raincover - when quite clearly it states its included in price!) and they can not get till end of may as mutsy keep revising delivery schedule....

should we appeal to mutsy to rename "Holy Grail"?

Or nip over to nl and kill the bright marketing geek who obviously released the press info before they started making these blummin things?

Yes, you can tell I'm sleep deprived can't you LOL x

SHHHH · 25/04/2006 16:11

seems like noone knows when the blumming thing is released! Not even Mutsy LOL..!

Dh only allowed me to order this pram on the basis that it would be here for our short hol abroard early May..OOppsss.....He says "I am not taking our current pram abroard ever again"! We only bought it last year.....to go abroard with Blush.

OP posts:
tegan · 25/04/2006 18:34

I think we should sue babie247 for false advertisement and see if we can get a few for free!!!

SHHHH · 25/04/2006 18:36

bright idea tegan!!! But then again...even then we will be waiting years for 'em..!!

OP posts:
tegan · 25/04/2006 19:49

Are we ever gonna get the bloody buggy.

By the way I'm going on hols next week so I have told maria not to send it then, but I guess she wasn't going to anyway.

SHHHH · 25/04/2006 21:42

seems like it's still and age off. She prob laughed and though "yeah right" when you told her that!! LOL.

Where you off to..?

OP posts:
tegan · 26/04/2006 13:08

We are going to Newquay for the week. It's our sun holiday so it was only a cheapy but we are going to the same place we had our honeymoon

SHHHH · 26/04/2006 15:24

when you say "sun hol" was it out of the sun paper..? Friend of mine book via the sun (some deal they did last year) and she loved it!!

Newquay is meant to be lovely..never been mind..It's nice though you are returning to where you honeymooned..who knows another mini tegan Wink.!!
