Second Pushchairs. A common phenomenon?

I am a student researching the trend of buying different pushchairs for different purposes, alot of parents I have spoke to now have a range of chairs for different needs. Is this common? How much are parents willing to spend on a second pushchair?

Anyone with any ideas or info please contact me:

Many thanks

Space, where does she get the money?? SilverX has spent minimum £3415 if her numbers are right, and she didn't list the prices on most of them; You could buy a taxi-service for less!

Just to echo Ghosty's point - Silver x I am very impressed!

Thank you for listing your collection, it will be of great help.

A huge thankyou to all the rest of you too. Bron, I have poured over the reviews for hours, thanks for the tip.

Lorien, many thanks and I would be really interested in any more info you can share about your time as a rental equipment co-ordinator.

Just my penny's worth.. I have a cheapo buggy for dd (used a babybjorn/grandparents-present-pram when she was a baby), but what I use most now is a bicycle seat... She loves being on the back of the bike, walks the bits where we get off and go shopping/library/etc., and we get to go outside a lot. I love it.

We have 2 buggies

  1. Cosatto £90 (RRP £120ish) started off great but for the last 10mths or so I find it really difficult to push - the wheels stick something chronic, it's also not the easiest thing to get over a kerb with ds in it! So I am looking for a new buggy (must be suitable for newborns...) so any suggestions?!

  2. Maclaren double side-by-side £99 (RRP £200ish) good BUT.. narrow seats so not good for toddlers, very difficult to move round corners/over kerbs etc.. with 2 toddlers. SO have hardly used it and am considering getting rid of it before baby is born (and getting a buggy board to go on new buggy....!)

Also have bushbaby backpack (£35 at NCT sale) - invaluble for walking and on holiday. Sling - which was a life-saver with a clingy baby (and has been used by friends...) plus a cheapy front carrier (useless as ds was too small then much too big!!) plus(!) our first back carrier which cost £3 at a carboot! Good but prefer the bushbaby.

I am willing to spend a round £100-£150 on a new buggy for baby but I want it to last much better than the cosatto (or am I expecting too much?)
