Third posting in Products, sorry, but find you lot much more forthcoming, honest and reliable than trawling the net for hours!
Our dog has the most dreadful breath - hot dead fish is about the most pleasant description I could give it. Someone told me you could get drops that you put in their drinking water that made the smell less awful. She was American so she didn't know if we got them here. Does anyone know?
He has always had bad teeth ever since we got him from Battersea Dogs Home and is too old now to have the operation to remove the tartar. I bought him bones when we first got him (recommendation from the dogs' home) but he didn't know what to do with them and they sat and rotted, rather attractively, in the back garden until I slung them over the fence for the foxes. I have also tried giving him breath freshening biscuits but they just make his poo green. It has got so bad that I am sorely tempted to put an elastic band round his nose when he comes over to me for a stroke. Please help our poor, dear hound before I succumb to my terrible urge...

Denta Rask is supposed to be good but my dog won't actually chew on them! Pedigree do a treat that is supposed to freshen breath but I don't remember what its called
We bought toothpaste from the vets, you get this little rubber thing to put over your finger to brush their teeth with (I only use DH's toothbrush if he makes me REALLY mad )

Cheers Lisa - our dog's are the same! Harry won't eat any of those healthy chewy things. Just thought I would refresh this fresh breath thingy - ho ho - just in case there is any expert out there who can cure my hound.

Cha WORM HIM! I know you will already have a routine, but he may be susceptible, and fishy breath is usually a giveaway sign.
