Where can I get decent mid-range kids furniture

Hi,

We're moving and I want to get dd new furniture and bunkbeds for her room.
I feel like I've trawled the web but can only find cheap or expensive furniture but not much mid-range.
I really fancy white bunks and pink furniture but can't find what I want (as always!)
There's some nice stuff in Next but it's £700 for a wardrobe and chest of drawers of which the COD is quite small.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
Thanks

Have you seen \link{http://www.allkids.co.uk/Kids-bedrooms-bedroom-suites-furniture.shtml\here}? Seems to be a good summary of what's available from various online stores.

\link{http://www.lxdirect.com/rf/navigation/product.do?Mis_item_id=15&product=203306702&D=306148802&Ntt=306148802&Dx=mode+matchall&Ntk=group_search&Mis_item_loc_id=1&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Np=1&N=0&Nu=this_product&Nty=1&thisprod=203306702&SNtt=TB824&SNu=pca_id\this} looks quite nice - unless it's the cheapo stuff that you'd already discounted! Thanks - am I being really thick, because when I go to the Ikea website it doesn't bring up any wardrobes or drawers? I'm going through Brent park as being my nearest store

we bought ds drawers, bookcase and wardrobe from the Robin range. Nice and hardwearing, good quality, but cheap as chips

nulnulcat · 30/03/2006 21:48

dd bedroom furniture is beech and pink bed is white and was all reasonably priced in argos

moondog · 30/03/2006 21:55

iBUY SECOND HAND AS MUCH AS i CAN.
lIKE THE QUIRKINESS OF IT.
jUST PAID £150 FOR A SOLID OAK (oops) wardrobe for my dd's room.
Very narnia.
Felt ever so smug when I dropped into Laura Ashley yesterday and saw that they are charging about a grand for their (admittedly very pretty) wardrobes which are MDF and cheap wood.
Smile

notasheep · 30/03/2006 22:35

Same as Moondog-bought dd fab walnut chest of drawers at Auction for £60,big deep drawers,a bit of polish and lots of compliments

moondog · 30/03/2006 22:37

Envyand Angry at walnut chest of drawers
Why buy kids' stuff anyway?
It's marketing bollocks.
Who wants a bunkbed that looks like a galleon when they're 18 anyway??

notasheep · 30/03/2006 22:41

£25,000 for a bed like a Cinderella coach!!!!

And dont talk to me about kids character matching duvet set stuff!

moondog · 30/03/2006 22:43

With a wallpaper border matching lightshade and coordinating framed prints???
Blearghh!!
Or how about an appallingly amateurish mural done by your neighbour who thinks she's a bit of an artist with the paint she had left over in her garage??

Jasmum · 30/03/2006 22:44

Was after a wardrobe and some drawers that matched that's all.....
£25,000 on a bed, is that all?

I'd say IKEA too if you like new things.
Excellent and very cheap.

notasheep · 30/03/2006 22:49

Cotswold Company too if you want brand new

moondog · 30/03/2006 22:50

Yes nice stuff there.
Thers is a company called Space who persist in sending me catalogues about every 2 mths.
Nice kids' stuuf if that is your thing.
