Dunelm Mill are reasonable

Steppy1 · 28/03/2006 07:33

....having a bit of a clear out franch and have a couple of sets of curtains....happy for you to have them for the cost of the postage !

Katymac · 28/03/2006 07:38

Large sheets (single are often big enough) but double or kingsize if not

Darker colours keep out more light

You can sew header tape on

Or staple then bunch back with cord or a ribbon

You can evne buy an eyelet maker and put in them to make very fashionable curtains

"Cheap as chips" as they say

How long do you need if the Ikea ones are too short? I honestly haven't ever seen any longer except made to measure.

BettySpaghetti · 28/03/2006 21:20

What about Argos for plain blinds? Think they do curtains too.

franch · 29/03/2006 16:43

Looks like argos and dunelm are too short too so you're prob right jbck. Excellent suggestions katymac but a bit creative for me Grin

That's really kind Steppy. What size do you have? And how much would they cost to post? Our windows range from 1.86m to 2.15m long (various widths).

Yes but long Grin

Jbck · 29/03/2006 17:16

Franch maybe you just don't fancy any in Ikea, but they are 3 metres long & although Ive only ever had 2 pairs (slightly different materials) the shrinkage was negligible.
Even if you bought cheap neutral ones to tide you over would they not do? I mean you couldn't go wrong at \link{http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10103&storeId=7&langId=-20&productId=14353\this price}. they've some plainer even cheaper.

cece · 29/03/2006 17:23

TBH Habitat aren't that expensive. Seem to remember about £30-£50.... Will try to look up their website...

taffeta 140 cm x 280 cm = £29

derwent sheers 110cm x 28o cm = £20

But they sell them per curtain panel so yes agrre the rest are expensive! Some were £100 per panle Shock

aelita · 29/03/2006 17:50

Ours are all from Matalan - not the greatest quality, but no worse than Ikea and a bit cheaper. If you buy cheap ones and they have those bobbly plastic pulls I recommend a quick spray of WD40 to make them run smoother, Smile

don't really want anything too sheer as they're not v private with the lights on! Think we may just have to HIDE till we get something permanent sorted :)
