yes it's the convertability that gets em(men)

I like the idea that it can convert too....

I am soooo indecidive but a buggy's a big deal esp when you dont drive.....

how do you find the 3wheels?

oh and is the bottom very low?

how's curbs?

Love my p+t - very easy to push - don't even notice kerbs - big air filled wheels - great if you walk long distances. It's reasonably easy to fold and fits in my clio's boot.

Now looking at a Marco, because we need to move a 3rd child around, and can't fix a buggyboard to the P+T

Filyjonk · 16/03/2006 15:42

have p+t and mothercare hoxton which is not a million miles from marco sky (tried marco-just too high for me @ 5 ft 6).

p+t is a million times easier to steer, can do it one handed. It is seriously robust, and is lovely as a single.

Only drawback. child underneath is low down to the ground. About as low as they would be if walking. We just tend to avoid busy routes.

also ds who is 2 1/2 can get in, hop out, etc. He doesn't use the buggy a huge amount, but we do a lot of walking, like maybe 5-6 miles a day easily.

Am on the verge of ebaying the hoxton, I think.

Oh though, have you considered the adventure buggy? toddler seat on top.

champs · 16/03/2006 15:44

thanks bluebear!! air filled wheels... that's good to know, i found them good.

do you use the toodler seat on top? how do you get baby out?

[blush]@curbs!! PMSL!!

i had a p and t, loved it until ds2 was sitting up then hated it

i think it is sad that when the littleone in the back sleeps he is just propped upright and can't lie down flatter.
He felt all out in the elements too, and i did bump my knees on theback seat too.
The toddler at the front was fine, but the little one at the back was just stuffed into this seat and no change in position poss at all Sad

toddler wouldn't use the back seat, that may have changed it a bit...
so i bought a jane powertwin which is certainly not as nice a pushchair- feels a bit rickety and is heavier to push. But little one lies flat when alseep and can sit up at a nice height too. the toddlr has less room , but he is init less than the baby anyway.
so NO to Phil and ted, not sure about marco sky tho' Marsy sweras by it Smile

Filyjonk · 16/03/2006 18:43

the hoxton is a cossato rip off. No comparison with steering, though my dh prefers the hoxton-i think its a height thing.

you can also put any extra kids on the front of the p+t, btw.

You can attatch a buggypod to the p+t, i think. don't know if that helps.

Re being close to the ground. not nice but still probably better than being stuck in a traffic jam! Plus, you can move faster with a p+t possibly cancelling out traffic fumes? (sorry, bf here)

Filyjonk · 16/03/2006 18:44

that all said, all doubles are vile things that i would prefer to be without.

ixel · 16/03/2006 18:58

Love my Marco because its so compact compared to anything else in the same price range. P+T is way out of my league in that respect. But agree that they handle much better. But I love knowing I'll fit in doors etc no problems, and its only mildly bigger and more cumbersome than the single Maclaren I had before.

Main problems with the Marco.. you have to step on the back to get it up on buses etc,I took the swivel lock off because it had a mind of its own, not alot of leg room on the back seat, small basket, and you cant hang a bag on the back when the back seat is flat as it pushes it up.

Gem13 · 16/03/2006 19:15

Just to chuck a spanner in...

Have you discounted the Mountain Buggy? Friend and I both sold on our Phil n Ted's for one.

Friend has 13 month age gap, I have 18 months. We both love our MBs.

ixel · 16/03/2006 19:17

They're very wide though, aren't they? Surely they dont fit on a bus?

Gem13 · 16/03/2006 19:20

Probably not but very easy to fold up.

bluebear · 16/03/2006 20:25

I've been looking at the twin adventure buggy but it's about the same price as a Mountain buggy at the moment!
Might check out the Hoxton rather than the Marco sky though.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/03/2006 22:19

Don't have the toddler seat, but do have a double Adventure Buggy and love it. It's one of the narrowest of the side-by-sides, narrower than than Maclarens and the Mountain Buggy but seats seem plenty wide enough for my massive 2 1/2 DS1 Grin. Haven't tried it on a bus, although am sure it would be fine through the double doors if nothing else. Have no probs in shops. It's designed by Phil and Ted btw. I'm not keen on the P&T for the reasons mentioned - sleeping looks really uncomfortable and back seat is very near the ground and the wheels. Child in the back can easily reach them...

champs · 16/03/2006 23:59

oops - yes the bottom does look a little out in the elements and is odd that the baby goes in there and not the todler.
think a cosy toe type thingy will be needed.

Filyjonk - I agree that doubles are bleurghGrin

ixel - yes stepping on back is a little annoying and the bag thing- esp as I have to put both their stuff in bag!!

Gem13 - thanks but I need a tandem type not side by side. and I get the bus. for a side by side the mountain buggy looked quite a lot slimmer than alot i've seen.
just to be nosey, do you get around the shops ok?

bluebear - IMO the new marco sky is better than hoxton, lighter, shorter, higher.... just check space in back.

AllBuggiedOut - was also thinking about the touching wheel thing..... buggy shopping is hard!!
