I know this has been done to death but about to purchase highchair for DD2. I like the tripp trapp chairs but would really like one with a tray so she can sit with me whilst I am in the kitchen as she is rather needy (to put it mildly) and is only happy if she can see me. I saw this one in John Lewis
\link{http://www.johnlewis.com/Furniture/Nursery+Furniture/Furniture/Highchairs/230164914/Product.aspx\nice looking wooden one}

which I like the idea of but not sure if the tray is easy to take off or not as I would also like her to sit at the table with us - not asking for much am i??

Any suggestions welcome ...

thanks SL x

I found a fabulous wood highchair from a company called Antique Reproductions. It was on e-bay (but brand new) and cost £60 (RRP £120). It looks really lovely, you can adjust the height, and the tray can be folded back so that ds can sit with us at the table. It also folds away. I think it's fab. Haven't got a link, but go to e-bay and check it out.

We have a great one from Ikea. I think they still do it. It's in pale wood with an eay to detach plastic tray. It's light so easy to move around the kitchen, easy to clean and versatile. We have also used one with the T-bar removed for ds (then aged 3) to reach the table. my dd (2) now uses it close up to the table with a placemat so she feels like a grown up. On top of this it was only zbout £35 and it looks quite smart. I was looking at the same ones as you but I thought the east coast one was too bulky and I know people who have had problems with the tripp trap one as when they are up against the table the children have pushed with their feet and fallen backwards. Hope this helps.
