Sorry, a bit specific I know, but I have a 15 month old who loves putting lids on things and taking them off. Can anyone suggest a good bought toy for her along these lines? She hasnt really got anything much for Xmas at the moment, poor lamb.

Tupperware? Stacking cups? Little saucepan set?

Definitely saucepans and maybe a teaset too. You'll get lots of "cups of tea" and "lunch" bought to you when she gets older.

definitely tupperware! dd's fave toy at that age was a set of shower curtain rings and two plastic bowls.

When ds1 was a bit older than this I emptied a bottom drawer in the kitchen and filled it with wooden spoons, little tupperware-ish containers and other plastic bits and pieces...he used to empty them out and sit in the drawer half the time but enjoyed the whole thing.

Couldn't really wrap it and put it under the tree though.

When my little one went through this phase I got a set of round lidded boxes from Ikea which were like the Russian doll idea (there are at least 10 in the set), but were supposedly designed for putting gifts in.

3 years on they still get used, despite being cardboard and only costing £3, definitely one of my best buys.

Ooh thanks, Bron, love the stacking pans toy but, sob, sadly out of stock as you say, but will definitely get her a teaset thingy, also she loves to turn and twist lids, she has caught me unawares as dd1 was totally backward with lids/shapesorters/toys generally ( she was nearly 3 before she could be bothered with a shapesorter) so am completely at sea with Miss Spacial-Awareness 2003, thanks everyone.

We have a whole set of round boxes that IKEA do for about £1.50 - they're meant to be gift boxes, but ds just loves them.
