HELP!! WHICH is better a condenser tumble dryer or a normail one??

I have just moved home, and I have a fab normail (vented) tumble dryer. But I have not where to put it to have the moist air blowing out of the window or wall. i am really concidering on buying one of these condenser dryers, but will be gutted if it doesnt dry as good as my dryer now, or by taking hours to dry the bits in the dryer.

Does any1 have any idea of which is better??/

Many thanx

I love my condenser - seems to dry well, only takes longer if the water holder is completely full or the filter needs de-fluffing. Generally empty water once every two weeks and filter once a month. Though, must say that I do need to have the nearest window open or the whole area gets very hot and full of condensation. but this maybe because I have one of the cheaper models and it's placed in quite a small area.

I've had 2 condenser ones. Lost custody of the first one when I split up with x, so went out and bought my own. Mine's in what used to be the larder and I don't get a problem with condensation, but what I do find is that it gets so warm in there that I can hang stuff on an airer in there and that dries in the warmth.

Mine have both been Creda's and they're just as good as the normal ones.

one word
creases
( that do not iron out)
and ventilation
Personally I'd rather dry washing near a radiator on a line, for condensation and power cost....
I'd not have one given

never had a vented one but have got a condenser and its great, if i take things out immediatley then I don't need to iron much at all. No condensation inmy kitchen at all when its on. the water simply goes into the bottle and I clean filter after each use.

We have a washer drier and I think it is a condenser, but because it is plumbed in, we don't have to empty any water out, it just drains like the washing does!

bambi06 · 07/03/2006 21:27

we`ve had both but i found that he vented one dries quicker ..

bluebear · 07/03/2006 21:42

Our condenser dries the clothes quickly - but agree with Leixemum, need an open window or condensation very bad. Our is hotpoint aquarius.

Passionflower · 07/03/2006 21:43

Had both, the vented ones dry more quickly but create condensation and heat. Condenser seems to take longer to dry but doesn't turn the kitchen into a sauna Smile

longwaytogo · 07/03/2006 22:05

we have condensor one and its brill, no condensation and it keeps utility room lovely and warm as there is no radiator in there. have to empty water every other time.

muchbetter · 07/03/2006 22:15

aughhhhhhhhh that great of you guys!! I was worried as they are quite dear. But thats good news about the heat, that its keeps the room warm, as i have no radiator in the kitchen.lol I have just ordered one, will be here on friday, didnt think the price was too bad, quite cheap. Prob end up crap.lol

the traditional drys better but the clothes are softer from the condensor

NannyL · 08/03/2006 08:55

a 'normal' one is much cheeper to run as well

CountessDracula · 08/03/2006 09:17

I am amazed by the performance of my condensor. It is so quiet and seems very efficient
