Quinny SpeediSX vs Urban Jungle Buggy

Hi, I'm trying to find a review on the 2006 Quinny Speedi SX ? Pages are full of info on the Quinny Buzz or the Jungle Buggies. If anyone can give me a personal opinion on the SpeediSX that would be great. I realise it's heavier than Jungle Buggy and in general looks more sturdy, but pictures can be deceiving.
Thanks a lot !
Soph

Have a look under MaxiCosi Speedi - they rebadged it as a Quinny last year but it is the same one.

Thanks, had a look but still not too much out there. I've now decided the Urban Jungle Buggy is for us. Just need to find somewhere that stocks the emerald green version (not lime green) then we're done.Grin Easier said than done....

Oooh, what's an Urban Jungle Buggy?
Have you got a picture of it?
Is it the same as the Mountain Buggy Urban?

I'm quite intrigued. Love new buggies.

Same thing. The name they give them in the Netherlands.

I didn't know they had different names in other countries.

Deffo the Mountain Buggy over the Speedi SX. I know its far more expensive but there is a huge difference in quality.

Mountain Buggy is by far the best product on the market bar none.

Forgot to add - the spruce green is only available on the terrain version - with the fixed front wheel (in the UK anyway).

The Urban comes in red, black, navy and soft blue.

HTH.

thanks for the tip .... I'm now completely convinced. However I just contacted the distributor "onetreehill" and they suggested to me that the Spruce Green (i assume that's the darker green colour) is available .... but I'll check they meant for the Urban and not just the Terrain. Their website suggests it is available for the Urban.

Ooops! Have just mixed up my threads. Am talking about Mountain Buggy on the Jane one too.Blush

SophStav, I LOVE all those colours on One Tree Hill, but I don't think they are all available to us in the UK. I only wish they were! This is usually down to British Standards on fire retardancy. It was a similar situation with the Bugaboo Frog - loads more choice on the continent.

Just started a conversation about Speedi SX before finding this coversation: have copied it below. Would also add that when I took the buggy to John Lewis, they said that another customer has bought the buggy back to the store I go to with the handle fault I talk about below. Hope it helps and is not too late! Would also say that I have found the basket too small and quite had to lift into the car being quite an odd shape when folded. Was happy with the manoverability, flexibility and the carry cot so not all bad!!

I bought the speedi last June as the car seat I wanted to buy would clip onto it, there was a carrycot available and the buggy seemed very spacious (being 6ft myself, I was not expecting a small baby!). At first I was very happy with my purchase, using the carrycot and car seat on the frame made it very flexible. When my baby outgrew the carrycot I attached the seat for the buggy and this is where the problems started.
Having just been used for 6 months the clips that adjust the handle height started to not work properly and would push in as we were walking along, a problem which got worse as he has got heavier. Then the foot break began to stick and eventually locked off. Obviously I cannot use the buggy with no break so I took it back to John Lewis to complain and was told that I hd to send it tothe manufacturer so they could decide if it was a product fault or if the broken break and handle were my fault (in which case I would have to pay for any repairs!). Either way I was told that the repairs would not be guarenteed so if the problem reoccurred, it was tough luck!
That is the stage I am at at the moment and would advise anyone not to buy this buggy and to think carefully about buying anything from the quinny range.
Any one else have any strong feelings either way aobut this buggy? Or about buying product from John Lewis- I have had endless problems from the start and almost did not get my buggy in time as nobody bothered to ring me about problems with the order and it too 20 phone calls to sort the problems out!
