hi was just wondering if anyone has used/uses these and if so do they work as well as they claim to? also do all the usual toddler/baby stains come out or do you need to pre wash them? thanks

I've used them for the last 6 months with our baby. They are amazing! Nothing that I have found the Ecoballs to fail on can be shifted with normal washing powder either.

The design must have changed a bit over the years, as they give things a bit of a perfume too (the lack of which is complained about elsewhere on the web).

A nice side-effect is that they don't make your clothes starchy (which I suppose is usually caused by not being perfectly rinsed when using powder).

I can't recommend these enough. We always wash our baby's nappies at 30 degrees, using Ecoballs, and they are all stain free after 6 months. Sometimes, for really tough looking things we use 60 degrees and add a bit of powder too, but I'm not sure that it's really necessary. The thing is, they work so well that it's actually quite hard to believe it. You also save on the rinse cycle, as it is not necessary, so you can use a fast wash or turn off the rinse cycle, depending on how your machine works. Quicker, cheaper, more energy efficient. It's all good, plus you never run out of washing powder or have to lug it home from the shops.

Have nothing to add but am keeping a watch on this thread as I am very intrigued by them but can't actually believe they work.

I think I might go and buy them. DS and DH have really sensitive skin so they might help.

Gloworm · 20/03/2006 12:25

i've often wondered about them.

how long do they last?

do you eventually buy new ones? or fill them with something?

Norah · 20/03/2006 12:26
