Bugaboo flat tyre

Can a bicycle pump blow up a flat tyre on a bugaboo? I don't have the money to buy some (no doubt)expensive bugaboo kit (this pram just keeps on costing!). Any tips appreciated Smile

I had the same problem. I took mine to a bicycle shop where they put some slime (you know the stuff you get in tubs!)in the wheel which sorted it. This also prevented further flat tyres. I can't remember exactly how much it was but it was very cheap!

I did also get a replacement wheel (only because I was pregnant with DD2 and knew that I had to sell this for a double) and that cost about £15.

I think my mate took hers to Halfords and they pumped it up for her

I'm not sure if the tyre has an inner tube. Don't know if that makes any difference though!

Thanks ladies, will google to see if any cycle shops or halfords in my area. NT, where did you get the tyre from?

Lullabys.co.uk or 01743 367994. It took about a week or so to come.

Hulababy · 01/03/2006 12:39

We had a 3 wheeler with proper tyres and used to take it to a local bicycle shop.

LIZS · 01/03/2006 12:41

We used to use a pump at the garage for our 3 wheeler ! Do Bugaboos not include a hand pump ?! Shock

NorfolkTurkey · 01/03/2006 12:46

The bugaboo frog didn't come with one. Don't know about the cameleon

LIZS · 01/03/2006 12:46

cheapskates !!

NorfolkTurkey · 01/03/2006 13:48

I know - we didn't think about it until I ounctured the tyre!

NorfolkTurkey · 01/03/2006 14:08

er punctured!

pookey · 01/03/2006 16:15

Bugaboo is like stealth tax with all the extras, cosytoes, pram clips, parasol even the carseat adapters cost £30!

all i can say is: they saw you coming! Wink

pookey · 01/03/2006 16:17

Still haven't managed to get the tyre blown up hope I haven't knackered it yet, Dp thinks the tyre might have been slightly punctured when we got it 6 months ago! The only reason I realsied was because a man in the chemist pointed it out to me Blush

We have a three wheeler and in 5 years have replaced each of the inner tyres at least once after I've pushed it over thorns and suchlike. Inner tyres are really inexpensive to replace and much cheaper than having to replace a whole standard pushchair when one of their plastic wheels breaks.

the stuff they put into bike tyres (professional riders use it) is called stanze (sp?) and it's fantastic stuff, looks a bit like runny pva

NorfolkTurkey · 01/03/2006 17:21

That's the stuff bundle!
