Would be very grateful for your views about whether it is advisable to connect a dishwasher to a softened water supply. A friend of mine has found conflicting information on the web and from traders as to whether to or not. Would be very interested to know what your views are. Thanks.

Oi! Merlot! \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=145297&stamp=060227101256\over here} We're all waiting with bated breath!

Ours is connected & works fine. We set it as if plumbed into VERY soft water area. We have no Salt or RinseAid in it & use a cheapo (Aldi) 3in1 tablet, press the 3in1 option & go.

Even my old cloudy glasses have been blasted back to sparkliness.

Thanks Milliways - I will pass on your views to my friend.

Anyone else with experience of this??

we have a dishwasher and a water softener. We don't need to add salt to the dishwasher though. can't really think of anything that is affected by it.

anyone with negative experiences of dishwashers connected to softened water supply??

Thanks Tommy :)
