What about St John's Wort Twinkie? It's supposed to be good for 'mild to moderate' depression.
The first couple of weeks I took it I felt much calmer and chilled out, but maybe it was psychological cos the effects seemed to wear off after that!

Twinkie go see a homeopath. They can advise on non ad stress relievers. I know a very good one who has sessions in the city - let me know if you want her details. She will also listen to you - she's very into emotional causes for physical symptoms, but not as full of psychobabble as a counselor might be.
And if you do feel like snivveling for an hour or so just do it - there's nothing wrong with being emotional. You don't have to "cope", and your problems are bad compared to other peoples - I know I would be a sniveling wreck by now if I'd had to go through everything you have.

Be very careful with St Johns Wort - it has some very funny side effects especially reacting with sunlight. It can also cause nausea etc. Perhaps you could try reiki (it really helped me and I then went on to train as a healer as I was so impressed)Or you could try some 'time out' therapy where you literally spend time on yourself (just an hour or so). Anti depressants are sometimes safer than herbal remedies as they are tried and tested. Drs nowadays are very keen (generally) on monitoring you and keeping you safe. Take care - it will get better xx
