toddler beds

ds is 16 months and very uncomfortable in his cot....i have looked at the toddler bed i mothercare and the 'anna' junior bed in john lewis
another stipulation is that it has to be short....the room is tiny and if it is more than afew inches longer than his cot, the wardrobe won't fit in the room
any advice or suggestions?

We bought one for dd from Ikea which can be adjusted to 3 different sizes. Her room is literally a box and it fitted OK for 2 of the sizes.

If it's like my dd's the mattress is in 3 sections, the end ones of which go up into the "headboard" bit and at the end to start with. Be warned though, it's a lousy mattress which won't last long. There are some earlier threads on this; we're about to have to buy dd a new bed because the mattress is so hopeless, so we've only had 3 years' use out of it.

Yes it comes in 3 bits - a main bit for the smallest size and two bits to add as you lengthen. They sell the "special" bed sheets also. The one we have is a grey metal (like an old hospital bed) but it is sturdy and mil slept in it when she last came here and said it was comfortable for her - she's short but plump (her words not mine).

We have the Mothercare one and DD loves it. It is only a toddler bed and doesn't expand though. It looks nice and seems quite sturdy. Only £50 too, although you do need a mattress for it on top of that.

Similar one, with mattress included in Argos for about £70. I think. I have no idea of what it is like though.

just looked at mothercare webpage hulababy...it says 24 months nd up...am a bit paranoid but ds is only 16 months.....what do you reckon?

My ds is 19 months old, and he went in a toodler bed 2 1/2 months ago which was meant for 2 and up, but hes been fine, with a long bedguard( from mothercare, about £15) and he doesn't even get out in the mornings, he waits for one of us to go in! So I'd say go for it!

Sorry, I just read my message, I meant toddler bed not toodler bed!!
