kitchen drawers - things to stop them slamming shut

When we got our new kitchen a few years ago we were offered the choice of having drawers that closed very slowly and quietly but opted not to have them as they were quite expensive.

We now really wish we had spend the extra money!

Does anyone know if we can have them added somehow now without having to take the kitchen to pieces?

Yes you can have them added, though possibly not the ones you were offered at the time.

We have friends who have this mechanism in their kitchen, it's fab. The company we bought our kitchen from didn't supply or fit them, but we did buy some from a place in Liverpool instead and fit them ourselves.

I don't think they are nearly as good as the ones our friends have; they stick a bit, and then the door isn't quite closed, which drives me mad (it will close, you just have to push it). They were cheap and came in bags of about three (I think we paid about £35 for the whole kitchen, which has 16 doors). We don't have them for the drawers.

I would think most kitchen fitters would know where you can buy them in your area. It's cheeky but you could phone one up from the yellow pages and ask him?

Just asked DP -he said theres a company called Hafele that sell them.

Heres a link to their website but I think it says they only supply to trade. I'm sure if you give them a ring they would tell you who sells their products locally to you though.

You could also try Screwfix .

Hope you find them
