Pushchair experts help me please!

My mamas and papas 3 in 1 has finally given up and I am looking for something new but don't know where to start.

My ds is 2 but we walk, on average, 3 miles per day so I forsee needing a pushchair for the next 2 years or so. I need to be able to fix a buggy board on for dd, 4.

Size/folding is not an issue as it will stay up constantly.

My only other requirement, the one causing me all the hassle, is that I would prefer to have what I had before - the option to have the seat either forward or rearward facing - on our long walks I find it hard if ds faces forward constantly as we can't talk to each other.

I have seen this on e-bay but have no idea if it's any good.

Any help gratefully appreciated!

Well, CH I can't help you other than to say (and you may not be even considering this) but no buggy board fits on the Loola (which is forward and rearward facing) I was a bit miffed, but 2.5yr old DS is getting used to walking!

Clayhead · 22/02/2006 09:21

Hvae just searched for Hauck and have been well and truly put off!

Have found the Loola (thanks Mumatuks!). Shame about the buggy board. dd can manage the 1.5 miles too and from pre-school each day but any further than that is hard for her to walk.

hauck is quite a cheap make. It's a shame that you need forward and rearward facing, a three wheeler would be better if you walking that distance everyday, much easier to push.

Clayhead · 22/02/2006 10:51

Any other ideas?

Or am I looking for something which doesn't exist?

Bebe confort do a rear facing 3 wheeler called the high trek . Not sure if it takes a buggy board but I have the older style (that doesn't rear face)and I've seen someone with a buggy board fixed on it.

LIZS · 22/02/2006 10:59

How much do you want to spend ? Some Quinny's can face both ways and you may get a cheap(er) one 2nd hand on ebay or small ads - also Teutonia, Silver Cross and M and P 's, Mutsy

LucyJu · 22/02/2006 11:14

I have a Britax which can face either way. It's quite bulky but very sturdy and easy to push. I would love to sell you mine, but I will need it for a while yet. Although it cost a lot new, I have seen similar on Ebay for very little (£20 - £30). I think the low cost reflects the fact that they are not very fashionable. I had the Classicale, which can definitely face both ways. I think the Trio does too.

Thanks for all the replies, very much appreciated.

Am now verging towards the Loola and persuading dd to walk. Does anyone have any experience of this pushchair?

We have a Maclaren that faces both ways. Don't know if a buggyboard would fit, though.

Clayhead · 22/02/2006 11:34

Cristina, which model is it?

I have no idea as it's 5 years old now but they must still make something similar. It was £120, reduced from £200 or so, in John Lewis.

Bagpuss30 · 22/02/2006 11:56

Is this any good?

Mumatuks · 22/02/2006 15:02

Clayhead, if you want advice about a Loola, please email me, I've got one. Might be able to help you out with getting one too (might)

CAT or email me at mumatuks AT hotmail DOT co DOT uk

Hi,

I am looking for a rear facing 3 wheeler that I can fold up without too much bother. Have seen the Quinny buzz and although unfolding was really good you had to take the seat off to fold down and I thought it was a bit of a hassle. Also no shopping basket.

The other one I've seen is the Cosatto Phoenix Active but can't find anybody who has one. Anyone heard of it or know anything about it? I've seen it on babycare direct on a very good offer so am quite keen.

AllBuggiedOut · 24/02/2006 00:09

Clayhead, what about a Bugaboo? Goes both ways and has its own buggy board.

vickiyumyum · 24/02/2006 00:18

the one bagpuss suggest is a good one and for a £100 bargain, i have seen that one with a buggy board attached (may have been a kiddy board) britax obviously a good make.

lexiemum · 24/02/2006 08:58

have a look at the bebecar range - we have the m-city and can reverse the seat. it's also got an original buggy board on it - had to buy the extension pack to make it work. Its absolutley lovely to push - bit big for the car though - needs a big boot unless you take seat off the frame and put in seperately.

they are quite expensive brand new but there's usually a hardley used one or ex-shop demo on ebay for the £100 mark.
