Amby hammock - what angle did you use?

I have an Amby hammock which my 6 week old daughter sleeps in very well (as opposed to a moses basket, she was like 'seriously, you want me to sleep on this ironing board?'). She seems to have her chin tucked down to her chest and the ladies at the children's centre said this could block her airway, but isn't the point of the Amby hammock to have the head raised slightly higher than her feet, so of course her chin will tuck down a bit. So now of course I'm all paranoid that I've got the head end too high so I've lowered it a bit and am now worried that I will have it too low - the one case of SIDS in an Amby hammock was apparently where they had the mattress nearly flat.

So this is my long-winded way of asking if anyone has any side-on pics of their LO in their hammocks so I can see a) what angle the head/feet are at and b) how far up/down the mattress you have your LO. The instructions say to have their navel at the level of the spring but that seems to have her head up too much towards the top of the mattress.

Thank you!

I know you posted a while ago, but I put a book in the foot end of my DD's amby nest otherwise she was head down feet up. It worked well. For weight comparison, it was a hardback copy of Bill Bryson's Home. Smile

We loved the Amby hammock. The Velcro at the top should allow you to tighten/loosen a bit to try and make the head higher. Make sure her heads now lower, but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about the tucked up look....it's how babies like to sleep, all snuggled in.

Thanks HuggyPomBear, that's a really good idea. No matter how much I adjust the velcro she either slides down towards the foot end or ends up with her feet slightly higher than her head. Off to get a book for the foot end!
