My DS has beautiful curly hair however at times it can be very frizzy and unmanagable! I don't want to use any normal product as I would for myself but haven't seen any baby products for this problem.. Suggestions welcomed! Thanks in advance xx

How old? I use baby johnsons conditioner on DS - works a treat.

olive oil?

My daughter has hair like this and after thorough research on mumsnet(!) I embraced a version of the curly girl method. I spoke to a brilliant lady at British Curlies?? (something like that) Who recommended a range called Darcy's Botanical, it has been great and now we are generally lovely ringlets rather than fuzz and split ends, do a search on here for the science behind it!! Btw, started when she was 2 as wanted to teach her to care for and embrace her hair and hopefully not straighten the buggery out of it the minute she turns 11Grin

Johnsons do a leave in conditioner spray in their no more tangles range which is good for scary morning fluff. Mind you the best thing for DD1s mad curls is light drizzle or getting a sweaty hot head!

He's 11 months, I use the johnson's conditioner every night after washing his hair in the bath but always wash it out. Thanks Jenster i'll have a look into it now :) Never tried olive oil, I will do though thanks.
I genuinely love his curly hair - I've always had straight hair myself so never had to manage curls but it really is different! Getting sick of people telling me to cut his hair tbh so fingers crossed I find something soon! Thanks again everyone xx

Jen we do curly girl method too, DD1 is now 3 and she knows not to brush her hair like we do with DD2. We do make a huge fuss of her beautiful curls in the hope she loves them when she's older. Mostly we have to keep her away from Granny who wants to brush her hair as she looks "messy" and "have we thought about cutting it short?" Grrrr

In the mornings I wet his hair and put a tiny blob on my hand and run hand through it to dampen the curls. I get it cut regularly so it has a nice shape.

Basically, the reason it frizzes is that curly hair is naturally much drier than straight hair, you need to avoid all products with silicone in them (any ingredient ending with cone) as it is massively drying, most shampoos and conditioners have this in, although I think more brands are coming out low cone or cone free. Def leave the J&J stuff alone as it only exacerbates the problem , I think I am now a self proclaimed expert on this subject now! Best thing is to find a cone free conditioner that you can leave in.

Oh right, good to know. Thanks for the tips.. will be looking at ingredients in future!
