Bugaboo bee and sleeping baby advice please

We are looking to purchase a compact, light weight travel system for our first baby which is due at the end of August. We live in London in a 1st floor flat which is in a converted Victorian terrace, so no lift.

The bugaboo bee seems to be the best option for us and our lifestyle. However, I have one concern, if I return home and baby is sleeping the bee does not have a detachable carry cot. I wouldn't want to leave sleeping baby in the communal hallway, so will need to transport baby upstairs.

Do any experienced Mum's envisage this being a problem? Has anyone come across similar issues with living in a 1st floor flat with a new baby and having the bee?

Any advice / suggestions gratefully received.

Use a cocoon so you can lift baby in the cocoon?

The Bee is pretty light, I have in the past lifted the whole thing and carried it up a full flight of stairs with a baby in it. I'm not sure how easy that is by the time the baby gets to 1 or 2 but I guess you wouldn't be using a pram with a carrycot by then anyway.

You can carry the whole thing up for quite a while. I can still do it with DD and she is 6 months and a large baby (born 10lb).

Otherwise just take the baby out gently and fold up the bee - you will get the hang of it.

The bee is great - excellent option for your situation! Much slimmer and lighter than most buggies, and very sturdy.

I wouldn't bother with the carrycot as that will just add weight. Just keep the seat on the lowest setting for 6 months.
