not sure about the buggy board on a powertrack .. BUT did you know that Jane make their own Buggy Board ..specially to fit their chassis's .. I know it fits the Nomad & The slalom ..you would need to check about the powertrack !

Apparently the new buggy board that they make is for the Slalom, and I have been told by a supplier that it won't fit the Powertack. Would love to know if this is true. The other option at the moment seems to be the BuggyPod, but no one seems to have got hold of one yet! I am waiting to be rung when they come into stock in Lilliput in Battersea to try it on my Jane. In the meantime, I am tossing up between the omnipresent Phil and Teds, or the Powertwin. Help!!

I use a buggyboard on a powertrack. Fitting it is no problem (as long as it is a "new style" one - ie not a secondhand one from a couple of years ago). You have to be careful where you put the connectors so the pram still folds up properly (not difficult as long as you think about that aspect).

The problem is that there might not be enough height room for you toddler. No problem with the matrix carrycot thing on. But when the pram seat is on, we have to take the hood off. The back loop of metal on the hood is just where dd's head needs to be. But the raincover fits without the hood so thats ok.

Also you can't recline the seat fully when the toddler is on the board. Only about halfway.

Its horrible to steer with the board on, but I think that is just because it is so nice to push normally!

I've been using it for a year now and the frame hasn't buckled yet...

Dd also sometimes sits on the footplate over the front wheel, facing backwards with her feet in the shopping basket. Only on level ground though as that does make the pram a bit unstable.

I also have a feeling that in 6 months time ds will want a go on the board and dd will reclaim the seat...

I have kept this in my 'watching' just in case I ever need one - may help.

buggy board on powertrack

I know of several mums in my area (Abingdon, Oxon) who have the buggy board fitted to there Jane Powertracks successfully. They say it does take a bit of effort but they work fine. Our local shop also assures me that it will fit on to the powertrack as I will be needing to buy one soon too, so it is possible.

wow, thanks everyone - will take our board off the maclaren and try to get it onto the jane now we know it can be done!!

I had ordered a Jane buggy board for my powertrack and it was only when I went to pick it up that I noticed it was for use on the Slalom not the powertrack. The guy in the shop let me take it to try it. It definately doesn't fit! The only way is to remove the tyre pump holder and that baby isn't budging for no one!! Shame cos the board is really sturdy with great wheels. If I get a universal buggy board I am concerned that my fairly tall dd who is almost 3 won't fit comfortably under the handle bar as there doesn't seem to be much space. Fruitful, is your dd tall? Also, I have 2 dogs, so I use the buggy a lot in the park. Do you think it would be OK to steer on grass or is that a tall order from any buggy board?

I do also have a Phil & Teds but my very large and heavy ds of 10 months is liking the back seat less and less and also scrapes his hands continuously on the wheels. I am worried as he grows he will get them caught in the spokes. Also he is constantly covered in mud where the wheels are dirty..... not the end of the world, but I am a bit concerned if I wheel over something less pleasant than mud!!

bump!

Fruitful, can you please tell me which buggy board you successfully use with your matrix? Have been reading that the slalom doesn't fit and not sure what else to try. Thanks.

The Lascal Buggyboard that you see everywhere. Bought it from Boots I think. At the end of 2004 - I don't think they've changed it since then. If you like I can do some photos of it attached to the pram?

Dd is short (92cm now). But she doesn't go under the handle, she goes inside it. Has to lean forward a bit which I guess means the ride is not that comfy, but she was 2yr9mo when ds was born, and I didn't want her to get too comfy on the board. I wanted her to learn to walk most of the time and use the board for emergencies and longer walks.

The shop where I got the Jane board from told me to come back in the week when he was less busy so he could help me with the universal buggy board, so I think thats what I will have to do to try it out with dd in tow! The other feature that I noticed on the slalom is the handle comes further back leaving more space for the child to stand inside, so probably not having to lean forward so much. At the moment I hardly use the Phil & Teds and if dd gets tired she sits on the front of the Jane, but ds is now quite tall and she moans that he is kicking her and pushing her with his legs.
