Does anybody know these ? They say they're sturdy enough be climbed on but I have my doubts... Maybe we'd be better off with a box???

To quote my Nana, they would last as many nights as days.................

LadySherlockofLGJ · 07/02/2006 22:31

i.e..............Not long

hoxtonchick · 07/02/2006 22:33

my friend sells them in her shop. they look pretty sturdy, but i wouldn't fancy their chances if ds (4) really put his mind to it. i think they're quite expensive too.

AllBuggiedOut · 07/02/2006 23:04

Quite, hoxtonchick. DS1 is 2.5 but about as big as a 4 year old and a lot more clumsy. But I love the fact you can decorate them yourself. Must remember to save packing boxes if we ever get round to moving house and make something myself

They don't look big enough to have much fun do they? It looks like those children can barely sit up right let alone stand. I think the novelty would wear off very quickly and yes they could have as much fun in any old box.

brimfull · 07/02/2006 23:22

ooo my ds would love the rocket....to expensive though.

sparklymieow · 07/02/2006 23:26

my puppy would chew one of those, he likes cardboard

Skribble · 07/02/2006 23:37

They don't look very big, kids can barely firt through doors, No big cardboard boxes from fridge freezers are the best. Cut a big door so they can get in with out ripping it and you can mnake anything from a bus to a market stall.

Ask a local shop to keep big boxes for you, supermarkets will go on about health and safety etc, small shops should be quite happy to put them by for you if they get stock in boxes.

I think they are an excellent idea but are far too expensive for what they are ...

JanH · 08/02/2006 00:04

I had a washer delivered by Comet the other day but the buggers unpacked it in the van so I've no idea what it came in; however we have a 24" widescreen TV, and the box that came in was vast and sturdy and would have made an excellent house. If you got a TV bigger than that, as most are these days, you could practically live in the box yourself (and have a huge TV too )

PiccadillyCircus · 08/02/2006 00:15

Am I the only person finding the title of this thread slightly amusing.....I suppose it would depend on how thick the cardboard used to make them was .

PiccadillyCircus · 08/02/2006 00:15

Reading your post, JanH makes me feel very ashamed of our 14 inch television

JanH · 08/02/2006 00:19

Ah, we used to have a 15", PC, but then my eyes got bad and I couldn't see it properly any more!

AllBuggiedOut · 08/02/2006 00:19

Thanks Piccadilly!

Bloody hell, they're tiny! Poor squashed children!

hunkermunker · 08/02/2006 00:23

That's bigger and possibly sturdier

Skribble · 08/02/2006 00:32

Hunker the foam one is a much better idea and the price is not as much as I expected.

farmerted · 08/02/2006 01:31

have just got one from www.ecotopia.co.uk, very sturdy and bigger than it looks from the picture but it has tiny windows and is so dark inside.....ok it is recycled but its also a bit depressing!
