Calling buggy addicts - is a Maclaren Triumph suitable for a 5 month old?

DD will be nearly 5 months when we go away and I am thinking of getting a Maclaren Triumph.

Is this sensible? How much does it recline? How much am I likely to want it to recline anyway? And what size of boot will it fit in - I know that DH has hired a smallish car (on the grounds of economising ).

All sounds good - I have just found one on Kiddicare for only £41.99

That would make a total of 4 puschairs and 2 children of 26 months and 4 months though .

fab small buggy. get a buggy liner or something to make it more comfty for a small baby.

I have one and don't like it (in fact will be selling it when I get round to it!)

Bought it to take on hols last year - dd2 was 4mths and although it was ok, she never seemed really comfy in it (despite having a sheepskin liner) and it didn't recline as much as I would have liked it to. Brakes are rubbish as well. I have used it occasionally since then (she is now 10.5 months), but would rather put my Xplory in the car boot(which is a pain tbh as it separates into 3 bits,) or use a sling than use the Triumph.

On the plus side, it is very light and has a handy carry strap.

i prefer my big buggy as well over the maclaren ryder.

Now I am getting undecided again (but thank you for giving an alternative viewpoint )

I have one and like it. It was bought when DD was 10 months though so not sure for a baby. It fits into my Fiesta easily. Brakes are a bit rubbish but I hardly ever put them on! Also basket pants. But light and manoevrable and cheap and comes with hood and raincover.

i had mine when dd2 was between 12-36months, so she was older. very handy then for chucking in the boot.

but with dd3 who is only 11months i prefer the larger buggy, its a smoother ride.

but for holidays and quick trips out the maclaren is fine.

What about a Maclarren techno. We have one for DS (8 months now) HAve used it since birth. Reclines all the way. But it's a bit pricier. So if you are going on a plane I wouldn't really trust the airline not to damage it.

Still deliberating about it....

It would be a holiday buggy only so the lack of shopping space etc wouldn't be a problem. And DD's head control is pretty good.

I will sleep on it (well, not a buggy, my own bed ) and make a decision tomorrow.
