I want it to have a removable tray so it can be used pushed against the table at a later date. Perhaps adjustable height would be useful too.

Anyone.....?

I specifically want a try though - incase this baby turns out to be as messy as dd1 . Plus, I want to be able to position the baby anywhere in the kitchen with some toys on the tray for her to play with.... that's the plan anyway.

you used to be able get a tray for the tripp trapp - think it's called the clic clac - aha, ebay comes up with the goods.

The Svan highchair is tripp trapp-y in concept but comes with tray, safety bar, cushion set etc which might mean it works out cheaper, and the East Coast 'multifunction' one is even cheaper (both available here )

Ikea do a couple - a very simple one and a lovely kind of turned wood one. It cost £35 when we got it and they do a detachable tray for £5. You can also buy a padded insert for it. Shame I took our to a charity shop a few weeks ago. Really lovely chair though and lasts for ages.

bambi06 · 07/02/2006 10:47

did you see that joash is selling a stoke trip trap one otherwise they sell them in tchibo

melrose · 07/02/2006 10:48

I was looking at lots of expensive ones and then found this in Ikea. IMO much nicer, v sturdy and can be pushed up to the table. Can buy a tray for it for an extra £3.20.....and best of all sosts £28 instead of £100+ for tripp trapp etc.

i like the svan highchair, the eastcoast folding high chair or the trip trapp. also found this one which is only £60

nappyaddict · 07/02/2007 21:20

can you take the tray off the east coast one?

satine · 07/02/2007 21:20

I love my Tripp Trapp and can't see why a tray is any different to pushing them up against the table! A tray is only something to get filthy and to need washing!

FrayedKnot · 07/02/2007 21:23

DS has an East Coast one which used to be available from Kiddicare but can't see it on their site atm.

It ahs a removable tray and DS now has it pushed up against the table, which means he has can sit at the table with us and be the right height.

The seat & foot rest are both adjustable and it can be used up to the age of 9 apparently!

It is one of my best buys, it's easy to clean as well.

Kidstrak · 07/02/2007 21:26

second the ikea one its a lovely height for our kitchen table and a bargain at £28

FrayedKnot · 07/02/2007 21:27

I have a Kuster. I used it for ds1 for 2.5 years and now ds2 uses it (ds1 has the Tripp Trapp). Beautiful piece of furniture.

nappyaddict · 07/02/2007 22:12

i would go for the east coast its cheapest!

funnypeculiar · 07/02/2007 22:16

another vote for the cheapo east coast - I have one ds still uses (3) and another for dd (10 mths!)

nappyaddict · 08/02/2007 02:01

also the babylo mandy is cheap but i can't get onto the website at the moment and i can't find another link to give you.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2007 02:22

with the kuster and east coast i meant can the tray be removed each meal time - like clicked off, as opposed to it being removed for when they want to sit at the table but needing to use a screwdriver or something?

plummymummy · 08/02/2007 02:44

ds had one from marks and spencer but they sell it in Mothercare also. Don't know the make but it is compact-ish and has a tray which you can also lift over and behind the chair so that child can sit at the table without need for tray. You buy the cushion separately in a choice of designs available at mothercare. Oh also it folds flat.

nappyaddict · 12/02/2007 22:01
