need a travel cot for ds, who is one, nearly two. want something decent but not too pricey; maybe even get a bargain in the sales!!

How desperately do you need one? I personally think that travel cots are hard and uncomfy for the little one to sleep in. If you can hang on until he's two, you could look into getting a ready bed for him.

I've had two graco ones, one of the smaller and one slightly larger, and I'm not impressed with either, I certainly wouldn't sleep well in one all night!

I got a graco multicouloured one from Argos, about £40. NOt very comfy, but my ds has slept in it a lot, and you can add pillows and stuff to soften the base. Mine is really easy to erect and has proved invaluable.

Has anyone had experience with Cosatto travel cots? They look a lot lighter but does that mean they lose on something else?

I have a second hand Mamas and Papas one which is like new, very sturdy and hopefully will hold its resale value for when I've finished with it. I usually pad the base with a couple of towels, or a blanket underneath the sheets, and both my kids have slept really well in it.

DS has slept in ours, my Mums, MILs and SILs. They all varied in price from silly money to the cheapest available at the time. He still sleeps very well in all of them. So, I would say go for a cheapy if its not going to be used all that often, or maybe mid range if youre going to use it a lot.

Ive been told the Samsonite bubble is the business.

Have a look at www.holidoze.com. I have just ordered their Slumber Bumper but the cot looks preety practical (inflatable!)
