Get one Grin

Seriously, they are fabulous. We have the Aygo Go with the parking sensors, etc. It's fab for city driving and parking. And I can even fit a cello in the front passenger seat!

We have the multimode option, and I like that as it makes rush hour stop start traffic much easier to navigate. The sat nav is a Tom Tom and so really good.

Just remember to take the aerial off before you go in a car wash... I have to order a new one now.

We have just reluctantly sold our Aygo.
It was fabulous.
Very economical and nippy.
Amazing what you could fit into it with the back seats down.
Go for it.

Can you fit a car seat comfortably in an Aygo? Will my 3.5yo have leg room? I'm very tempted.

NettoSuperstar · 04/03/2012 14:37

I looked at them very briefly, but settled on an IQ instead.
They looked OK though, just not as cute as mine Grin

You can fit a car seat in. We had a five door. Can be a bit of a squeeze when strapping them in, but no worse than any other small car.

MishiMoshi · 04/03/2012 18:04

It's easier to fit a car seat in than a lot of slightly bigger cars as there's much more of a gap between the seats in the back. Just get the rear doors though - I wouldn't cope with the aygo if it was just a 3 door.

BsshBossh · 04/03/2012 19:20

Thanks all. Can I ask why you chose the Aygo over the Yaris? Was it simply cost?

dodgyroots · 04/03/2012 19:23

I've been in the back of one - was surprisingly roomy. Boot is tiny with back seats up though - might fit a small buggy

Hulababy · 04/03/2012 19:26

We had an Aygo for a while and it is a great proper small car. Was very economical and very reliable.

My friend had one not long after and had car seats in hers, inc a baby seat and a second stage one. And fit a pushchair int he boot just fine.

DorisIsWaiting · 04/03/2012 19:35

We have stage 2 and steage 3 car seats in the back and there is plenty of room between the seats. Ours is and older version 57 plate but it's still only £20 road tax and group 2 insurance iirc. We use ours as the run around and dh comuting car then have a huge mumbus for family trips etc.

wonderstuff · 04/03/2012 19:44

I love my Aygo - can fit 2 car seats in the back and a mclaraen in the boot (plus a kite, 3 pairs of wellies, 3 coats and a cot duvet) £20 road tax and cheap to insure. I recently took mine on a 5 hour drive - they are only really comfy to drive for 4 hours at a time ime...
Everyone stalls mine when they first drive it - the clutch pedal bites quite high and the gap between over-revving and not getting any gas is teeny tiny - but once you are used to it 'tis fine. (also mine is a few years old now, the new models may be different).

pettyprudence · 04/03/2012 20:05

I have the peugot 107 version (its exactly the same car, as is the citreon c1 - all made by Toyota more or less), 3 door. I have an 11 month old ds in a second stage car seat (britax evolva 123) and a bugaboo bee and it all fits in fine. Last weekend me, dh and ds went away and as well as all the usual clothes, towels etc.. I also took masses of food, cooking equipment, 50 cupcakes in boxes (!) and a baby backpack carrier and booster seat, and it all fitted in fine (i did cheat a bit though and had my mum bring the travel cot and pram). The best thing of all though is the fuel consumption and £20 a year tax.

DorisIsWaiting · 05/03/2012 12:11

We got to London and back on 1 tank of fuel (from South Devon) and I just check our insurance this year was £188 with a further 80 cashbac through top cash back....so £108!).

CroissantNeuf · 05/03/2012 12:21

A friend has one and she loves it.

She has a 6 year old and a teenager so no car seats other than a booster.

They even managed to go on a self-catering holiday in it (so all the food etc as well as bags although she did have to tell her teenage DD not to take her entire wardrobe!)
