Hardwearing girls shoes must exist, right?

After buying the 3rd pair of boys schools shoes from Clarks for DD, I am finally out of patience! Is it too much to hope for shoes that girls can run around in, kick a ball if they want and they not fall apart instantly? I've tried Startrite too, but the simple fact is that the style of girls shoes just do not suit how DD wears them.

Any suggestions where I can get better shoes for DD please? I'm in Southampton if anyone knows any specific shops. She has quite wide feet too so I can't order online.

Many thanks.

You don't say how old your DD is, but I had the same problem with one of my boys. I solved it by sending him to school with a pair of old trainers he could change into at playtimes. His teachers were perfectly fine with this.

I also work at a secondary school and we have lots of students change into trainers at lunchtime to run around in.

Hope that helps.

I know exactly what you mean. My dd has some fab walking boot style general wear boots which have lasted forever but as far as school shoes go they come home scuffed like crazy on the first day. Would love some shoes that actually look smart and suitable for school for a bit longer than a day!!!! :)

DD is 10. Fortunately she's happy enough to wear boys shoes and the pair we always choose just looks like a pair of plimsols under a pair of trousers. But it irks me that we have to send her to school in boys shoes.
