Has anybody got one or used one to bath there baby?
Are they better than a normal bath?
Where can i buy one, or does anybody have one they would like to sell?

Just buy a bucket!

But seriously - a search in the archives for "tummy tubs" brings up this lot . There are a couple of specific threads on them, but in case you don't know already, if you click on any of the others, press ctrl F and type in tummy tub in the box, you will find out what was said about them (well, I find it easiest anyway!)

Tummy tub? What is it? I've vaguely heard of tummy time

hub2dee · 24/01/2006 21:11

We've got one. Only used it a few times, we always have a bath with her instead.

I think they're a good idea, and you'll certainly use a lot less water, but we found it just as easy, and more pleasant to get in with her IYSWIM.

I've used it for exploding poo emergencies when I've been on my own though.

Yes, I have to admit I am not a fan of the tub (although they do look cute and there are some good testimonies on the links)

I liked the reclining bath seats which suckered onto the bottom of the big bath best FWIW.

i used a washing up bowl when we went on holiday and it was perfect. Much easier than the baby bath Those tummy tubs do look cute!

Tummy tub = plastic bucket, integrated / shaped carrying handle to the sides, gently curved bottom, indicating line for water level. You fill it with water, insert baby, Robert is your father's brother.

Allegedly babies love it (keeps them warm to shoulder easily, fetal positioning etc.)

Ewww... Hub2Dee - what's wrong with using the toilet??

Squarer · 24/01/2006 21:14

erm, that was referring to earlier post of

"I've used it for exploding poo emergencies when I've been on my own though"

not re bathing baby

Mercy · 24/01/2006 21:17

Hmmmm. How much do they cost though?

hub2dee · 24/01/2006 21:29

Squarer, behave ! (although did re-read and it was a rather ambiguous sentence, rest assured they would have been dd's emergencies and not my own).

£20 I believe.

starlover · 24/01/2006 21:31

i suppose it is pretty handy for those times when you just know you won't make it to the loo.
