just seen a polti steam broom on ideal world and I'm tempted (sad I know ). Has anyone got one or something similar for cleaning floors, beds, windows, etc?
They have cloths on the bottom which cost £7 for 6!!! seems a bit pricey if you can only use them once, does anyone know if you can wash them and use them again?

You can wash the cloths but they do get holes in and worn away after a few months of good use. They give you 6 at a time because they do get mucky when cleaning and I know i get through several in a cleaning session if doing really dirty jobs.
I have bought two steam cleaners in the last five years. The first was great bit had a small water reservoir and needed constant switching off, cooling down, refilling, waiting to heat up again before the next job. I bought a second one that was on offer at BandQ a while back. Bigger water tank works a treat. I don?t use it as much as I should as it is a bit of a faff setting it all up, filling and waiting for the steam. Also can only really do it well away from children so an evening job for me.
It is brilliant to use if you are concerned about chemicals in the home, pollution etc. Great for bed mattresses. I love it to do my bathroom - cleaning tiles and windows is a doddle with one. No more reaching up to squirt high wall tiles in the bathroom only to get squirted in the eye!
Don?t know the model you are talking about but as a cleaning idea, they are great

thanks lemon. The one I'm looking at has other attachments but I need it primarily to clean floors so I'm looking at one that looks like a broom.

Hi I have a Little Yello steam cleaner and I am very pleased with it. I got it from Amazon for £40. including postage. I was going to get my daughter one but they have now put the price up to £69 so I can't afford that and sghe won't be getting it now. I have blitzed my house with it and had loads of fun doing it, much better and faster than hand washing everything.I have dione floors, furniture although not leather or velvet items. I have also done all my tiles, they came up like new. The carpets are now stain free and looking good too. I also did all the double glazing. The plastic came up lovely and it cleaned the windows brilliantly although I didn't hold the steam too close or for too long! I have even washe down an emulsioned wall where the dogs makes it muddy and it's all come off. All in all I can recommend this but at the new price there may be something else out there that is more of a commercial one that may be even better. You do need to use distilled water if in a hard water area though but Halfords sell 5L bottle for just over £3 so it's not too expensive and it lasts for ages - depending how much you've got to. My next job is the oven..... watch this space!:)

Hi Daisy
I forgot to mention that the Little Yello has one cloth and lots of attachments with it. The cloth is re-useable so no expense there. It also cleans the floor tiles really well and laminates. in fact I'm wondering what else I can find to clean - I think maybe the mattresses should be next!
