My hubbie bought me a Kindle for my birthday on Saturday & I love it! I am such a book lover, so to swap to an ereader is a BIG thing for me. I'm in serious danger of developing a Kindle habit!

Sweetiepetal · 23/01/2012 17:05

Seeing as we had 15 big boxes of books when we moved house, a Kindle can only be a good thing!

Marking my place, I've just deleted my last book so I'm on the look out for free reads.

susiedaisy · 24/01/2012 17:08

Oh ok nothing great completely random choices, paranormal romance, kresley cole has a great IAD series out, also the midnight series by Lara adrian, also world war z by max brooks, small gods by Terry prachett, treasure island by Louis Stevenson the tenant of wildfell hall by Anne Bronte just whatever takes my fancy and is cheap on kindleGrin

susiedaisy · 24/01/2012 17:10

Into the darkest corner, was a very good thriller I read last year, and the call the midwife series by Jennifer worth is enjoyable as well it's currently on the BBC but the books are much better

Trickle · 24/01/2012 17:20

My mum bought me one my last birthday and I love it, I have too many books too :)

I read a Christmas Carol for christmas (free), Alice in Wonderland (also free) I get The Guardian (£10 a month and really really easy to read) working my way through Arabian Knights (free) The Raven and have War and Peace ready to go (about £2.50). I've been reading stuff I wanted to read for years but never seemed to get round to, not having to hold the whole book helps and I'm dyslexic - even though I love reading I often find things challenging and have been a bit stuck reading teenage fiction really - somehow the kindle makes it less intimidating and easier to do and I don't have to remember to return a book to the library or return before I've finished.

I've also been sending myself loads of PDF's and now I don't have to print off knitting patterns and worry about where to put them or if they'll be ruined - just email to the kindle and off I go. I read the latest Harrington report on ESA on it too and a couple of other government consultations.

DH just downloaded loads of Dr Who PDF books - not really my thing but an option if I get really board I suppose.

I want to get the call the midwife ones. Have also wanted to read The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath for ages

marking my place, going to treat myself to a kindle on payday

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/01/2012 08:47

Wow bran, and I thought I had a bit of a problem Grin.

Sweetiepetal · 25/01/2012 11:35

Crikey bran! I'm not bothered too much about the number I have, it's the space normal books take that's the problem!

My brother has just sent me a £20 amazon gift voucher!! Hurray! Kindle store here I come Grin

coolascucumber · 25/01/2012 15:57

Love mine. I'm currently reading the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (free) but galloped through the Girl with the Dragon tattoo trilogy after Christmas. Cheapest way to buy a Kindle at the moment is with the £10 off Tesco Direct voucher.

PersonalClown · 25/01/2012 15:59

Don't forget to sign up here for a daily email for free books.

Oh and if you've read Life in Stitches then I absolutely recommend Blood, Sweat and Tea. It's the musings of a paramedic and the 'patients' he meets!

Sweetiepetal · 25/01/2012 16:01

Stupid question probably, but can you buy Kindle books via the amazon website rather than the Kindle itself? The voucher my bro has sent can't be redeemed via the 1 click shopping the Kindle.

Uses (always best to finish posts, I find Wink

SleepyFergus · 25/01/2012 16:17

Sweetiepetal - yes, you just but on Amazon and then switch on the wireless setting on the Kindle and hey presto, they download themselves.

I am amazed at how easy it all is (too easy sometimes!) and I love my kindle. I'm esp looking forward to going on hols with it instead of lugging 3 or 4 hefty paperbacks with me that take up precious room.
