too good to be true?

DS2 has one of those - fairly "cheap" thinnish pine but has lasted over 7 years as it was originally DS1s and in my rented-out flat before that!

SoupDragon · 18/01/2006 16:41

Fits nicely under a mid height loft bed as it happens

Gillian76 · 18/01/2006 16:42

Do the drawers glide in and out or do you have to battle with them?

They're reasonably smooth. I think "glide" is perhaps an exaggeration but they're not difficult. They are on some sort of runner IIRC. Too lazy to go upstairs and check

Gillian76 · 18/01/2006 16:45

Yes I suppose you don't get much gliding for £19!

They are reasonably small though. Perfectly OK for a child's bedroom or for underwear etc.

It was for the children I was looking. Was thinking about getting one each for the DDs. Will investigate on Friday.

Yes, I have had 2 for 6 years now, childrens underwear draw, now currently being used for computer games, dvd's books etc in spare room
Quite sturdy little things lovely gliding draws, but not very big.
I'm sure i only paid about £12 or thereabouts

Gillian76 · 18/01/2006 16:57

Would I be able to stack 2 one on top of the other?

OP posts:

I've got 2 of these, one each side of our bed.

The drawer bottoms are only hardboard, but okay for undies and bedside stuff. Bear in mind the drawers are not very long (front to back).

We painted ours to match the wallpaper, and they don't look too bad.

Gillian76 · 18/01/2006 17:00

Ok for children's pjs, underwear, tops, trousers, tec?

I don't think they would stack very well, but certainly good for childrens (smaller) clothes.

SoupDragon · 18/01/2006 17:11

You would need to fix the top one to the bottom one witha bracket. I don't think it would work too well because the sides are slightly higher than the top so it's not completely flat.

Gillian76 · 18/01/2006 17:17

Oh gotcha re the stacking. Will check them out. Definite possibility. Thanks

If you want to use drawers like these for heavier things get DIY stores to cut lengths of wood to length and screw in under drawer, IYKWIM
