Advice Please - Buggy Board / Strolli Rider / Buggy Pod??

I am expecting my second child in early April and my little girl will have just turned 2 then, my husband and I don't want to get a double buggy as our daughter is quite active and I don't think she will be in a pushchair for that long now, but we are at a loss as to what to do about the first wee while. We were goign to get a buggy board but then saw that you can also get the hitch hiker boards with a little seat, or a strolli rider that sits alongside you when you are pushing or even the buggy pods that fold up next to the pushchair when not in use ... we are now totally confused as to what might be the best product for a just-turned 2 year old to use. Any advice woudl be much appreciated!!

i've got a litaf 'seat to go' buggy board, just to confuse you any more - there is two steps, one they can stand on and one they can sit on facing you. my dd is 2.3 also i put the baby in a sling for the early months, much easier and they sleep nice curled up on your chest

Do you find that it gets in the way when you are pushing the pushchair? I am worried I will end up standing on her or kicking at her heels all the time, whilst wandering along with arms outstretched! Also, when you are crossing roads etc do you have to find proper crossing places with lowered kerb edges? At the moment I just happily bounce over them with our three-wheeler and pay no attention to bumps etc!!! Think I will try the sling option for a while too, though if baby turns up at a similar size to my little girl, it will take a few weeks before it is big enough to be able to go in a sling!!

Hi, have just responded to another q iro the pod. We used the sling option when dd arrived, although ds had just turned 3 not 2, but it worked very well for us, and it would give you the chance to try out/borrow the different options before you made a decision about what was best for your family...just to be a little minx I'll also throw into the pot the option of buggy links (by Prince Lionheart) that clip two individual buggies together to use like a double, but you can still use them separately too

when i had this prob there was only buggyboard/double option that i knew of, i did neither but if i were to do it again i would DEF get the buggypod but don't forget a raincover

I did carry baby round in a sling and loved it but not practical in the rain

The buggyboard works very well - goes over kerbs without any problems - but you do have to stretch your arms and shorten your stride while pushign with it. I used one on both our buggies for ds (2y3m when dd was born), but after a while found it easier to get him to perch on the rim of the basket when using our big Graco as I didn't have stretch that way. I imagine the sitting buggy board would mean an even greater stretch.

The buggy pod looks a brilliant idea, but it would discourage some children from walking when they are perfectly capable of doing so (both of mine! ). If you make sure that they are wearing reins while on the buggy board, then they can hop on and off as they please.

seat to go

we bought this buggy board when my dd2 was born - dd1 was just 2 herself and was a good walker like your wee one

i love it and still use it if we are going quite far (dd1 is 3 and a half now)

if you are not using it you can sling it over the handles

its so comfy for wee ones to sit on, dd1 has even fallen asleep on it a few times! and they can stand also on the bottom step

fits most buggies as ive attached it to 2 or 3 different makes
