A friend of mine has just started selling these skincare products and I'm a bit of a Clarins addict! I want to give her the business but I'm not sure...

Anyone use them?

100 years ago and they were dreadful.

tiredemma · 17/01/2006 21:39

remember the provident woman selling it to my mom YEARS ago ( and i mean when i was a child). really awful stuff- if you use clarins then im afraid its non-comparible.

Gillian76 · 17/01/2006 21:49

Oh god.

Don't want to hurt her feelings but don't fancy shelling out for stuff I won't use!

My MIL swore by it apparently and use to sell it to. She is like a wrinkled leathery prune and not a good advert in the slightest.

Gillian76 · 17/01/2006 22:00

Oh no. It gets worse!

Wait until she tries their hard sell sales techniques on you ...

Jbck · 18/01/2006 13:22

Didn't realise they still sold it, my friend had an Oriflame party when we were about 20 & we all ended up looking like Jodie Marsh on a bad day. It was all really heavy dark foundation, awful for young skin & not one of us was distinguishable from a satsuma. I'm a redhead & paler than pale, even ivory shades in certain brands are too dark for me & friend looks very Mediteranean, all dark hair, dark eyes & olive skin, yet she had us in the same shade of base make-up. Scary stuff & quite a hard sell too IIRC.

That bad, eh? Maybe I can get some bubble bath or something then?

She seems quite impressed herself. May be things have improved.....

My friend sells oriflame and the stuff is crap sorry!

WigWamBam · 19/01/2006 09:54

You may find she puts you under pressure to host an Oriflame party as well by offering you incentives - best avoided as once you do one you'll be expected to host others, and all your other friends will start to avoid them like the plague once they realise how expensive the stuff is, and how awful it is.

I found that WWB, She wouldnt shut up about me having an oriflame party and kept inviting me to hers, I went to the first couple and got bored... she kept sending me catalogues, calling etc even signed me up as an consultant - I said nooooooo thank you! I dont see her anymore

MaryBS · 19/01/2006 12:28

My SIL keeps buying it for me for Christmas - will someone PLEASE tell her I don't want it!

WigWamBam · 19/01/2006 12:30

Can you suddenly develop an unsightly and painful allergic reaction to the stuff and give it back to her - remembering to look suitably gutted at never being able to use Oriflame again?

MaryBS · 19/01/2006 15:45

Nice idea - I like it!!!!!
