Travel Systems - which one do you go for?

I have now been brave and ventured into baby shops to have a look at a possible travelsystem, but was exhausted by the huge variety. What should you look for in a travelsystem? I think I liked the Bebecar and Jane systems best, but really am at a losss about how to decide between them - does anyone know where I could find some good product reviews on them?

think there are product reviews on this site -?? I would just say go for one that fits through your front door and one that can fit in the boot of your car. We bought a fairly expensive Bebe Confort one for dd (I think over £300 at the time - I'm embarrassed to write that, what we could do with that much money now!!) and I can't even give it away now. Would like to get a 3-wheeler for a second child, so we have one collecting dust in the corner. It's in excellent condition, like new, accepting all offers...........lol! Good luck in your quest!

Hi

Graco ones are very good value for money, robust and practical. We went for a Metrosport because they are very lightweight (7kg, I think) in comparison to the others. You can also fold it up with one hand, which is very useful when you have baby/toddler in your other arm!
Also, remember to check that it will actually fit in the boot of your car. The difference in the folded dimensions is amazing from one model to another, so get out the measuring tape and make sure it will fit and still leave you enough space for more than just the changing bag!!

i got the jane pushchair - wanted the lightest possible one i could find - and its fab!! so light, so easy... check car boot size though. steering on it is great! only bad thing is small basket underneath... cant get much in. i know only a few places stock jane... make sure u order in plenty of time,.. they take ages.

We have a graco metrosport and I can't fold it up one handed, but it is light and fits in the boot of our Ford Ka (or did when we had the car!!). It is easy to push and stear, but it is starting to look a bit cheap and used.

know what you mean cazzybabs... looking a bit old and worn ... but i still love my metrosport!!! very very light and the best shopping basket (huge in comparison to other TS's... but bear in my (dunno if this still the case for newer models!)that when your have the car seat clipped on top... it is a real squeeze trying to get stuff into the basket!

but still rates highly in my opinion....and sooooo light!

Just had my Metrosport delivered but can't use it until baby comes! I chose it because it's very light and has lots of practical bits. Also really good value when you take into account the car seat. I got a good deal from \linkwww.just-kidding.com/{} which included a free cotbed!

oops that's \linkwww.just-kidding.com{} ??

we bought a mamas and papas one and would you believe i never once put the car seat into the buggy part! We would have been ok with a car seat and a completely different buggy. I think what happened was that when i took her places in the car/car seat, i just clipped it out of the car and carried her in the car seat. And when i needed the pram i just put her in the pram. i thought i would use it when shopping to take the car seat out on the pram and then transfer them to the car, but the one time we did that she woke up anyway. that might help?!

Another vote for the Graco Metrosport. We can fit it an the change bag in the boot of our MINI but that is about it. We learned to travel light before DD was born as we previously had a Mini Cooper 35.
On the Metrosport you can undo a couple of clips to get into the basket more easily when the seat is fully reclined.

I love my Jane, it's light, comfy for ds and so manoeverable. We recently took it up a (small) mountain in Scotland without too much trouble so it really is all terrain. I'm glad I've got a big car though as it takes up a lot of space

I had a Britax solo for ds1 and it is still going strong - a bt heavier but great for chopping - good basket underneath and the car seat was really good too. Nice cup holder and storage attachment too. Lasted well - durable.
