Pushchair harness advice please

My 19 mo ds is not particularly big for his age but the harness on my beloved Urban Detour has become very snug, especially the lap part. Does anyone know if I can get extentions (sp?) or even a replacement harness for it? Come one buggy addicts, this one's a challenge from a fellow buggy obsessive.

I don't know about the Urban Detour in particular but the same thing happened to dd at around the same age in her Quinny. The manufacturer were particularly unconcerned and could offer no help in offering extensions, etc. In the end we purchased a harness by Safety First (Mothercare stock them I think) and clipped this onto the D-rings in her buggy to make our own 'extension'. It's a solution, but I should point out that the manufacturer did not recommend this at all, probably from a safety point of view? Well, it works fine for us, and frankly I just couldn't justify spending £450 on the system to just use it for 18 months.

It's about time these pram manufacturers got their act together and sorted out basics like harnesses fitting, etc, particularly when they are charging so much for these things.

Good luck!

Thanks for that Pacincofan (I always put an 'h' after the 'c' in Pacino and have to back and take it out again, do you think he could be persuaded to change how he spells it?).

I'll have to take a close look at how it's all attached on the pushchair. I have a feeling that the harness is bolted onto the frame, but there may be D-rings as well. I agree that if they say the age range of a pushchair is 0-4 yrs (or whatever) then the harness should fit for that age range.

i always find motehrcares own brand buggies simply do NOT make that strap long enough.... espcailly for toddlers!

I rememebr when my dainty petite little one year old had it as big as it could go with hardly any slack, and thoight then, OMG what do you do with a toddler!
