Hello, I asked this on travle but thought I might have more lukc on'products'. I'll be taking my (still to be born) 3 month old on a ryanair flight to Croatia in the summer. I'll need to takesome sort of buggy. I've got an old Mclaren which doesn't go at all flat so probably not suitable that young. Or I've been lent an even older Mamas & Papas system with a wheel base and a carry cot. There's a pushchair bit too but it doesn't go very flat either. Would I be able to get this on the plane? Am I mad to take it? Is there a btter buggy for small babies I should buy for this holiday? Advice needed! Thanks.

I would think a lightweight from birth pushchair. Mothercare do a Citilite. Or Graco do a Citisport. Graco isn't the most brilliant of brands though it has to be said. Not sure if the Micralite is from birth.

we've travelled very easily with a pliko. Good idea to get something comfortable - padding/leg rest, good hood, so they can settle & hopefully have sleep while you're having your dinner/drinks !

I've got the Maclaren Techno which is suitable from birth, but folds up so is compatible with travelling.

Thanks tortoiseshell. I was thinking about the Mclaren techno. My firend who lent me the ancient Mams and Paps will be horrifed if I buy any thing else but I do feel we need somethuibng for the holiday!
Mojomummy - how old is your Mams papa pliko? Is it the carry cot and wheels bit?

Hi, my pliko is about 2.5 years old - so NOT the new pramette version. I still use it now, I think it's FAB . I've got an aria as well, but this has a tiny hood & no leg rest - so I'm not that impressed with it, although it is easy to steer.

DD did actually sleep (until 2am when I woke her up by continuely checking her in her pliko as I was desperate for some sleep one night.

We use a john Lewis sheepskin liner in there too & a shade-a babe whilst on hols. I will be investigating one of the huge sun hoods though for baby no 2.

I did investigate a maclaren, 'cos they are very popular, but I didn't think it was as good as the pliko. I like the bar that goes across the front & DD liked to grab that & have a good look around !

Good luck with whatever you decide

I've recenctly bought a silver cross compact for my Dd who's now 2 as I hated traveling with a cheap toys r us buggy that I got when she was three months old, this didn't lie flat but she slept and seemed pretty comfy in it but it was horrible to push.
The silver cross comes with all the extras like cosy toes, bag, rain cover and sun shade and they tend to sell for less than the pliko second hand. It's really nice to push and easy to steer . As the name suggests it does fold really small the only problem is the clips that hold it together when foded aren't that brilliant, when you have the hood and cosy toes on but easy enough to get an extra strap for security on a plane.

the other good thing about the pliko is it stands alone - so great when you are waiting in line at the airport.

Have seen an ad for the silver cross & they do look nice.
