Educational software for kids?

I have just set up an old PC for my DD, the theory was that I could get her to play some educational games on it instead of bugging me when I am on here to play on Nick Jr.

However, I am confused what software to get her. She is 4 and not reading yet, but on the brink. She can do some basic maths too.

The software for pre school looks a little too basic, and the software for 5-7 may require me to be there all the time telling her what to do - so mumsnetting will still be interrupted!

Any recommendations?

My little girl is now 6 and has always loved the "Jump Ahead" series. The Toddlers and Nursery school say something like 18 months - 3 years, and 2-3 years, but are more suitable for a 4yo, trust me! She's now got the Year 1 game, which is more taxing. I like the way they follow on from each other.
The Bob the Builder one is good too, if she likes Bob. My 4yo is just starting on that, and he loves it - problem is stopping the 6yo helping him!

Dorling Kinersley (or whatever) Learning Ladder is great!.. DS1 loves it. There is a talking pencil that shows you round and there is so much to do it's unbelievable. We got it from PC world (£10), it's so good I bought one for the playschool as well!

Disney Read and Disney Maths is cheap as chips and very entertaining. Ds is something of the expert as he uses it on an old PC while I work. Okay so in places it's too american, but the American accent is okay - because it's the Winnie the Pooh voices. Ds has learnt to add up and sequence as a result of playing it.
