???
have I missed a major important mn thread?

Gingerbear · 14/01/2006 21:10

she wanted to know the best buys from Lidl.
Think she needs to save money on groceries to buy more burgundy for the wine cellar.

lol, I had a conversation with my mum this afternoon on the relative merits of Netto vs Lidl. Consensus was veg better quality at Netto (she is the queen of bargains)

Sainsbo's for goodies and treats, Lidl/Netto for basics. I am saving a fortune. Banking dosh as we want to go to far flung exotic locations later this year.

Weve just got one in Estepona, so i'll go and have a look and see if I can get any of the recommended goodies. I bet here its all pig fat and fish heads

Gingerbear · 15/01/2006 21:14

Hello Lucy. Spanish Lidls vvv good as I recall (The one in Oliva was excellent - not a fish head in sight)

What is the temperature like down your way in mid March? We need a week away before summer hols.

OP posts:
lucy5 · 15/01/2006 21:49

Mid march should be nice about 25,although we do sometimes get heavy rainfall feb/march time. Where are you thinking of staying?

Gingerbear · 15/01/2006 22:05

Dunno, friends used to have an apartment in Marbella, but sold it for extortionate price and bought 3 bed villa in Denia!
Any suggestions?

lucy5 · 15/01/2006 22:09

Depends what sort of hols you want. I love tarifa and surrounding areas but its very beach bum.

Estepona is a sweet little place but not much to do. Some really nice hotels near by if you fancy a bit of pampering.

lucy5 · 15/01/2006 22:11

sorry cod but I will review the new lidl soon, its caused great excitement in Estepona!

Gingerbear · 15/01/2006 22:13

Beach bum is good, so long as not raining! DD is 3 and 1/2 and sand is her favourite medium for creating works of art. She also has a decent grasp of Spanish after spending a week in Oliva in an apartment next door to lovely Spanish family.
(PS If 11pm is late for you, you can email me tomorrow on dleafe at hotmail dot co dot uk)
