He'll be too young to be very interested in anything much, and we have masses of baby stuff from the older two, but he needs something otherwise his siblings will think he has been neglected! What are your top tips for baby presents?

what about socks, tights, vests - things that get a bit grubby after a couple of kids have worn them. A new hat/mitts?

If he's got plenty of stuff for now, what about starting to collect a set of classic books - Beatrix Potter or similar?

BadHair · 06/11/2003 20:25

Last year I wrapped up ds1's outgrown baby toys for 2 month old ds2. Older one had forgotten them, and youngest one was too busy being bemused, in fact he sat in his bouncy chair in stunned silence for most of Christmas morning.

i'd say keepsakes at that age....books,little engraved pots for teeth and hair.(to be of course!)

BadHair's idea sounds good to me!

However, if it's too late for you to remove things before repacking them as "new", what about giving him stuff to add to collections you already have like Brio, Lego etc? He won't care and the others will like it.

Trying to remember what DS1 and 2 had for their first Christmases - they were 5 months and 8 months respectively - not a lot, IIRC. You could get him a couple of token chewy/rattly toys to add to your collection?

i love the idea of wrapping up old toys! I removed the baby toys from the playroom some time ago so I bet the older ones wouldn't even recognise them. hmmmmm, very crafty badhair!

A nice wooden toy which will last. We got DS2 a bead run for his 1st Christmas (8 months old) and a Noah's ark for his second.
